We recently connected with Anna Majure and have shared our conversation below.
Anna, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of our favorite things to hear about is stories around the nicest thing someone has done for someone else – what’s the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
One of the most meaningful and generous things anyone has ever done for me wasn’t a grand gesture—it was a quiet, steady act of trust and belief that unfolded over time. My very first client, Ann Lamar, gave me the chance to grow, to learn, and to truly become the decorator I am today.
When we started working together, I was just beginning. I didn’t have a long list of clients or projects to point to. But Ann Lamar saw something in me and invited me to design a room in her home. With each project, she allowed me more creative freedom, trusting my eye and instincts a little more. Her confidence in me was never loud—it was gentle, consistent, and incredibly powerful.
We went room by room, and with each space, not only did her home evolve, but so did her style—and so did I. What began as a client-decorator relationship slowly blossomed into a genuine friendship. She valued my opinion, welcomed my ideas, and gave me the room to stretch my wings without fear.
Looking back, I realize how pivotal that trust was. She didn’t just hire me—she believed in me. And that kind of belief, especially in the early days, is everything. Ann Lamar gave me the most precious gift: the space to grow, and the kindness to do it without judgment.
I’ll always be grateful for that.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I come from a family full of creatives, and from a young age I was encouraged to “live out loud.” My love for interiors grew from watching my mom arrange flowers and work in her antique booths, and tagging along with my parents to estate sales and auctions. That early exposure taught me to value timeless pieces with character and warmth.
I’ve always been drawn to color and styling—layering and pairing beautiful pieces is something I genuinely love. God instilled in me these personal passions and coupled them with the encouragement from friends and family which gave me the push to strive for more. So with the support of my “village” and a lot of prayer I began my business and in 2019, Majure Decor was officially born. Today, our team of four women collaborates to create thoughtful, personalized interiors that help our clients feel more at home in their space.
In 2024 I opened a retail location and 3142 Carlisle Street became our new home. We utilize it for all our needs. The space in the back is where we meet daily to collaborate for design, and choose our curated decor for clients homes and the space up front is where we sell our favorite home decor as well as my art. We continue to grow and look forward to all that the Lord is doing in this business moving forward. We trust Him daily with our future.
What sets us apart is the heart we bring into every project. We care deeply about the people we work with, and we’re proud to create spaces that reflect their stories and style. We work with any budget, and enjoy both the room refresh on up to the new build with 3D renderings. For me, this work is more than decorating or design—it’s about helping others love where they live.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When it came time to start Majure Decor, I didn’t have a big investment or a formal business loan—I started with what I had. I hosted a sale in my own home, opened it up to the public, and began letting go of things I was ready to part with (and to my husbands surpise – even my kitchen table!) But I didn’t just put them out like a garage sale—I staged everything intentionally, creating little vignettes so people could see the potential in each piece. On day two of this sale and when the cul-de-sac was full of cars. I realized that I was going to need some help and I called a friend of mine to come ring up sales. Eveda is the queen of sales! She was a huge encouragement for me and she really helped in moving me forward.
That sale ended up being the spark that helped me get started. I also began listing items online, and before long, people were reaching out—not just to buy, but asking for help decorating their homes. That along with the encouragement from my friends and family helped me realize this could be a genuine start to a business. That grassroots, resourceful beginning taught me so much and really shaped how Majure Decor has grown—intentionally, creatively, and always with heart. However, I give full credit to God. He did the work putting all the right resources into place and opening the doors one by one to where Majure Decor is today.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, it’s definitely those moments when I place a piece in someone’s home—a statement piece that ties everything together—and I just know it’s the finishing touch the space needed. It’s incredibly rewarding to see a room come to life like that.
But the best part is seeing my client’s face when they walk into the finished space. When I know we’ve hit the mark, that we’ve created a room they’re not only happy with but truly love—that’s everything. Knowing they’ll enjoy that space for years to come, that it brings them joy and comfort, that is what makes this work so meaningful for me. It’s an honor to be able to work with others in their homes and make beautiful spaces with all these wonderful people I have become close with over the years.
