Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anna Luena . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Anna , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
When I was about 6 or 7 years old we lived in a condominium near Aurora, CO. There were many kids that lived there and I was friends with most of them. One of my best friends had an older sister, she had braces and I thought she was the coolest person I ever saw. We would play together often at her place, they had all the best toys and one day her older sister gave me the CD “Spice” by the Spice Girls. I remember running home so excited to show my mom. She gave me an old Walkman, one I was pretty sure my cousin had stolen, but I could not wait to listen. The case was cracked but the actual disc was in perfect condition. My small fingers popped open the Walkman and put the cd into place. I felt the cd snap in and closed the lid. The power button wasn’t working, the back had an easy access battery pack, not like those ones you need a screwdriver for. Two AAs and we were back in business. I pressed power, ah there’s life. I pressed play and the tiny Walkman got to work humming in my anxious palms. ‘Yo, I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want. So tell me what you want, what you really, really want…” my jaw was on the floor. From that moment on I knew I wanted to make music.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello, I am Anna Luena and I am an artist making LovePopMusic and things to inspire and heal people. I’ve been making music professionally since 2011 and I’ve been training in my field since I was 6 years old.
I am also a small business owner that makes and sells natural products for your face and body. Our signature item is an all natural, vegan full body exfoliator made with simple ingredients, pure essential oils and CBD. I got into aromatherapy over the pandemic and that lead me to creating my own soaps, body oils and body exfoliators. At the time, my partner was experiencing health issues and his eczema was causing dark circles on his arms and legs. I initially created Dab Mask as a relief and something that he could use daily to help with irritation, dryness and scarring. I’m proud to say that this is our second year in business and we grow more every month. You can follow us on IG @dab_mask .
Over the course of my musical career I’ve been able to do some pretty amazing things but I am most excited for what is to come. I am ready to perform shows and festivals overseas and to get my first 1 million streams.
My latest album, “Child of the Universe: Oceanus” is part of a multi disc project and is currently at 70k organic streams in the last few months. As an independent artist, I greatly appreciate every person who streams my music and I know it leaves them feeling good after they hear it. My producer and I create all of our music from our home studio and we pour nothing but authenticity and high vibration into the music we create. We write, record, mix and master ourselves. His name is Iammalachi, you are definitely going to want to check out his music.
Currently we are working on the second disc of the COTU (Child of the Universe) series and I could not be happier with how it is turning out. ‘Oceanus’ was water themed of course so this second disc will be forest themed. I worked really hard to channel grounding energy for this project because that’s what the forest makes me think of. This disc will also have more artists featured, it’s been so great getting to work with some of my favorite creatives again and I will announce who they are as we get closer to completion. We have a title in mind but I think we will leave it to the fans to vote.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Society can support a thriving creative ecosystem by buying local, attending small events, buying our art and streaming our music and supporting small business. Our world is so driven by the concept of money but in the scheme of things money does not make you “feel” anything. We can lie to ourselves and claim that we would all be happier if we had more money but the most important thing is experience. We all are born into this world to experience life and all the beautiful things it has to offer. Creatives keep this world going, we inspire uplift and provide hope to our communities. We need to support our creatives because they remind us we are all human and in this together. My hope is that as technology progresses people become more and more aware of what truly is important and start to go back to small scale communities instead of large industrial cities.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I think the hardest thing for other people to understand is that the law of attraction is real. I’ve been able to stay in Los Angeles for almost ten years living off of my art because I trust my abilities and know that as long as I can remain positive and be willing to grow, the universe will always make sure I am provided for. To most people this sounds absolutely bonkers and I get that. Before I knew this I thought I would have to work myself to the bone, just to survive. Now I know that the more I do what feels good, the more my spirit aligns the right people, opportunities and abundance to come to me. Sure I work hard, but it’s on the things I love to do the most and if there’s anything I want people to take from my example it’s to trust themselves, meditate often and believe in their talent and abilities. As long as they do that, they will never have to struggle. Yes their will be challenges and you must train your mind to focus on the thoughts that feel good, but if you can do that you will have a long prosperous life.
