We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anna Lazarides. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anna below.
Anna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
At Beauty by Anna, my mission is to make my clients feel beautiful and give them the opportunity to have fun and get creative with me. That’s why I offer both photography and makeup artistry as a sort of “one stop shop” I knew that in order to give my clients a full service experience, I needed to learn both and it has taught me so much about the industry. It’s also a more stress free event for my clients, because they know I will take care of everything they need that day whether it’s a wedding or a photoshoot
Anna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I originally had a degree in business and marketing and once I graduated, I gotta job at a firm that was wonderful but I didn’t feel that I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. I have always been passionate about the makeup artist industry.. Aside from the creative aspect, I love helping women see a new side to themselves and boost their confidence. After being a makeup artist for a few years, I met a photographer named Angela Fowler who became a mentor and took me under her wing and taught me everything she knew about photography. From there, with the moral support of family and friends I was able to build a business of my own and create an all inclusive experience for my clients
Have you ever had to pivot?
I graduated with a degree in marketing and was on the road to working the 9-5 corporate job for the foreseeable future. After some soul searching, I knew what I really wanted to be doing but the change was terrifying. It’s tough to give up stability for the unknown. I took a leap of faith and decided that life is too short to not at least try to live out my passions.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media has been a HUGE part of the success of my business. My line of work is of course very visual and appealing aesthetically to potential clients is very important. My biggest piece of advice.. as simple as it may sound.., tag your clients. Let their friends see the work you did for them. Your business can grow exponentially without ever having to spend an extra dollar.
