We recently connected with Anna Krystyna and have shared our conversation below.
Anna, appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I was approaching my 37th birthday, in my beautiful apartment, in the city of Manchester which I had grown to love deeply, everything in my life looked great, my business was thriving, I had an incredible community of women around me, my dating life was good, I was meeting great men but I just didn’t feel satisfied. It wasn’t until I sat deep in reflection and got really honest with myself that I realised I had been spending years abandoning myself as I had always had a deep desire to move abroad. So with that realisation I decided to take a risk and move to Lisbon, not knowing anyone or much about the Portuguese lifestyle!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a nervous system and somatic coach I guide and support women through stress less and living more. I found myself in this industry by following my own healing journey that created a deep sense of fulfilment in the woman that I already am, not who for so many years I thought I should be. I took a couple of years learning and investing in myself then decided to train as a coach and facilitator to share this work and pass on everything that I had learned to other women to support them in finding themselves back to a sense of deep love, fulfilment and connection to themselves and their body.
This work is unique because it involves the body, for years we have been so reliant on knowing more information, trying to understand ourselves, our past and the reasons why we have the ineffective patterns play out in our life that we say we don’t want (yet can’t seem to stop!) nervous system work and somatic combines the knowledge without having to dig up the past but instead focuses on liberating the body and making new empowered choices that are aligned with the life that we want.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The biggest lesson I had to unlearn is something that the younger version of me needed to feel safe and at ease, that was that everyone needs to like me. I created my whole life around a strategy of needing to be liked by others, it showed up in so many ways like always worrying what people thought of me, always worrying (and carrying) other peoples emotions – especially my parents! I know so much of this stemmed from my childhood when I was bullied by my inner circle at high school. The unlearning has taken me to a new deep sense of self love, the reframing mentally and the being with my emotions that the only person who I need to feel truly validated by is myself. That’s not to say that we don’t require to some level to be seen and celebrated by others, but at what cost do we rely on that alone. I know for me it was an exhausting 3 decades that kept me in a spiral of self doubt.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe my community feedback centres around how strong my content is because I always give raw honesty, I don’t pretend or filter, I barely wear make up and I don’t care to look flashy. I am not an influencer and am trying to sell a product that promises to answer all your problems. Life is always going to throw us challenges so my reputation is very much grounded in being with the challenges in a way that women can learn from them and grow from them. The raw real honest truth is rare in a world where there is so much noise of what we should be doing to be ‘happy and successful’ so my aim is to educate women on stripping all of that back and getting back to their animal way of being, the innate power they have within them and that’s just being their true authentic self.
