We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anna Jones a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Anna , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of my most meaningful projects that I’ve worked on was for my first single “Find a way.” This song was written at a place in my life where I needed to find a way back to myself and to my source energy. While writing I remember reflecting on so much that I had overcome in my life. I wanted “Find a way” to be a reminder to anyone who listened to the song for it to serve as encouragement to always return to self. When I recorded the song at the studio I can vividly remember the feeling of “wow this is going to encourage and inspire so many people”. Essentially the song was just for me although, I knew I needed to release it as my first single and that others may find inspiration while listening as well.
Fast forward to almost 2 years after it had been recorded. I decided that it was time to release the track. With it being my first single as an artist, I wanted to ensure that I had a music video t represented it and to tell the visual story. I wrote the treatment, sent it to my sister who is a videographer and photographer
as well as my brand manager at the time, ordered my outfits, planned my hair, picked a location and set a date. This may have been the most pressure that I had put on myself in a while! I would be driving to Texas from Atlanta where my team was located. Then driving from Texas to New Mexico where I would be shooting the video in the White Sands. I didn’t sleep for 3 days, and we got the music video recorded within about 3 hours! When I tell you that I could have not have accomplished such a successful shoot without the help of my team, I truly mean it! The video turned out beautiful, my sister got the video edited and Find a way was officially released as my first single and music video.
I will never forget the process of recording this record, down to the feeling I got once finished and finally watching the music video.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I love NFTS! I actually have an NFT project myself that was set to release in 2022. That year I performed for the first time in Las Vegas, NV at the NFTLVCON conference! It was an incredible experience and the support of the community was truly unmatched.
At this current state I do believe that NFTS are a great way to own your art fully and to be able to give your supporters portions of your art that they can be apart of instead of just supporting you by streaming music or buying merchandise.
This question has inspired me want to tap back into the space of NFTS. Although, much has changed and the space is still developing I do encourage artist to tap in or create NFTS of their own as it can be very rewarding.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely! This will be a short answer but what is driving my creative journey is purpose! My music is intentional, my products are intentional, my businesses are intentional. Knowing that my purpose is bigger than me and that I am meant to connect and inspire many!
