Anna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
The fashion industry is dynamic and ever-changing, continuously influences the way media covers fashion-related news. As seen with the rise of TikTok, social media platforms have become significant players in shaping the fashion narrative. However, the future of fashion media remains uncertain, and it is essential for content creators like myself to stay informed and adapt to new trends.
In today’s digital age, it is crucial to keep up with the latest platforms and trends to reach previously untapped demographics. The fashion industry’s fast-paced nature demands that media coverage remains fresh, innovative, and relevant. As a content creator, I recognize the importance of staying on top of the latest technological advancements and developing engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences.
As we move forward, the fashion industry’s reliance on social media and digital platforms will only continue to grow. Therefore, it is essential for media outlets and content creators to remain adaptable, embrace change, and continuously seek out new ways to connect with their audience.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Anna Goode, a college junior from Searcy, AR, and the proud owner and operator of Anna’s Fashion on various social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Twitter. Initially starting on Instagram, my account now features a wide range of fashion-related content, from red carpets and runway shows to magazine shoots and other fashion news.
Over the past year, I have also begun creating my own content by attending museums and fashion exhibits. I have covered events such as the Metropolitan Museum of Arts’ “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” The Brooklyn Museum’s Dior exhibit, the Gucci store at Brookfield Place in New York, Anabella Bergero’s exhibit at the FIT Museum, and the Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville, TN.
Although I encounter few problems, there are times when I may incorrectly tag a brand or omit someone from a post accidentally. However, I am quick to rectify my mistakes, and everyone has been incredibly understanding and gracious.
What I am most proud of is that I have managed to keep my account going despite being a busy college student. Despite taking a full course load, I am passionate about fashion and committed to engaging with my audience, even if it means carving out time from my busy schedule. The joy I experience when celebrities or people I admire interact with my account is indescribable. Most recently, Lisa Ann Walters, who played Chessy in the Parent Trap, liked and reposted my post of her outfit on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. These small moments make it all worthwhile.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My current priority for Anna’s Fashion is to reach 1,000 followers on Instagram by the end of the year. Once I achieve this goal, I plan to expand my presence on other platforms such as TikTok, with the aim of reaching a wider audience.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
There are a couple of runway shows that have had a significant impact on the way I view fashion. The Alexander McQueen Fall 2006 Ready-to-Wear show, titled “Widows of Culloden,” was one of the first shows I ever watched, and it ignited my passion for luxury designer runway shows. Another show that holds a special place in my heart is the Valentino 2021 Haute Couture show, which also happens to be the first post I ever made for Anna’s Fashion on Instagram.
Initially, I had created a new Instagram account to follow designers and news publications, but it was the day of the Valentino show that prompted me to use the account to showcase my love for fashion. These two shows have left a lasting impression on me, and I dream of one day being able to attend shows of this caliber in person.
