We recently connected with Anna Ganina and Sasha Lucenko and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna Ganina and Sasha Lucenko, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Anna answer – I wasn’t always one to take risks when it came to my career, although my passion for art was clear from an early age. Opting for a safer route, I pursued a degree in architecture. However, at 27, I took a leap of faith. I left behind my successful career in architecture and embarked on a transformative journey to Italy for four months. During this time of self-reflection, I reevaluated my life and realized my true calling lay in the world of art. Upon returning home, I made the bold decision to pursue my dreams wholeheartedly by enrolling in a master’s program in fine art and art history. To illustrate the depth of my apprehension, I didn’t even inform my parents of my decision until a year later. Looking back, I recognize that my fear wasn’t so much about failing as an artist, but rather the fear of disappointing my parents. This initial risk marked the beginning of a journey characterized by courage and self-discovery. Since then, I’ve embraced risk-taking as a means of personal growth and development. Confronting fear head-on has proven empowering, regardless of the outcomes. Each risk undertaken has imparted invaluable lessons, enriching my journey and leaving me with no regrets.
Sasha answer -For me, becoming an artist wasn’t a rebellious act; it felt like a natural course of life. With a lineage of artists spanning generations in my family—my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, and uncles—it almost seemed predestined. I would have been in trouble not following my family footsteps.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Sasha and I crossed paths in 2022, and from that moment, a unique bond formed between us. Recognizing the potential in our collaboration, we embarked on several art projects together. As we worked side by side, it became evident that our diverse styles and approaches seamlessly complemented each other, laying the foundation for Vibrant Palette Murals.
Painting murals diverges significantly from painting on canvas, both in technique and mindset. While painting a canvas allows for personal expression, mural painting involves capturing the essence of our clients’ emotions on a grand scale. When undertaking mural projects, whether for residential or commercial spaces, we delve deep into understanding our clients’ desires to convey their stories and beliefs through art. Each mural we create serves as a testament to our shared belief in the transformative power of art to evoke emotion and elevate human experience.
For our business clients, we craft dynamic murals that act as compelling storytellers, embodying their missions, brands, and values. By meticulously designing murals that stand out and leave a memorable impact, we help businesses distinguish themselves in competitive markets, fostering positive brand exposure through social media and beyond.
In residential settings, we collaborate closely with clients to ensure their murals not only enhance existing interiors aesthetically but also resonate with their family values and traditions. Often employing symbolism to create subtle connections to family roots, our murals become cherished heirlooms that transcend mere decoration.
The process of connecting with our clients is profoundly rewarding. It’s a beautiful exchange of stories and emotions that fuels our creativity and inspires us to craft murals that leave lasting impressions. With each project, we strive to create art that captivates hearts and minds, inviting viewers to rediscover its beauty year after year.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In our experience as artists, we’ve been fortunate to be based in Austin, a city known for its vibrant creative community and unwavering support for artists across various industries. The residents of Austin have a genuine appreciation for art and culture, and they actively seek out opportunities to engage with and support local artists.
When considering what society can do to best support artists, creatives, and a thriving creative ecosystem, it’s crucial to prioritize policies that promote economic stability and growth. Looking back through history, we see how art flourishes when societies achieve economic stability. It’s during these times that ordinary people, beyond the elite, begin to invest in and appreciate art. This highlights the importance of policies that promote financial growth and security, allowing individuals the freedom to explore and support the arts without the burden of basic needs. Because humans need art for their souls, to nourish them, and to find connection with their emotions. Once basic needs are met, the soul craves art for fulfillment and enrichment.
Moreover, integrating arts education into school curriculums is vital in cultivating creativity and fostering an appreciation for the arts from a young age. Children are inherently creative, and nurturing this creativity is essential for their holistic development and overall well-being.
By prioritizing economic empowerment and arts education, society can create an environment where the arts thrive, enriching lives and communities alike. It’s through these efforts that we can ensure a vibrant and enduring creative ecosystem for generations to come.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For us, the most rewarding aspect of being artists or creatives is the ability to connect with people on a deeply emotional level through our work. Creating something that resonates with others, evokes strong emotions, or sparks meaningful conversations brings immense fulfillment. It’s incredibly gratifying to know that our art has the power to inspire, uplift, or provoke thought in someone else’s life. Additionally, the freedom to express ourselves authentically and explore our creativity without boundaries is a constant source of joy and fulfillment. Ultimately, the most rewarding part is seeing how our art positively impacts others and contributes to a sense of connection and understanding in the world.
