Anna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hi y’all! I’m Anna and my clients often refer to me as a fairy godmother, but you might know me as a spiritual life and business coach, oracle card deck author, and pop artist.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

For the Animal Guides oracle card deck, I had so much fun raising the initial capital for that business. For years, I had been pulling animal cards from popular decks for truly anyone that I could. I told EVERYONE how one day I would have my own deck. I used Kickstarter to raise $10k in 30 days to fund the initial order of 500 decks. It was amazing to see how the community came together to support my dream — friends, people I’d coached briefly YEARS ago, and even people I didn’t know contributed. It allowed me to offer pledges as “pre-orders” and sell many decks from the get go. I would recommend it to anyone who is a strong networker, loves their community, and has an item to effectively pre-sell.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

When COVID hit, I was teaching packed yoga + meditations classes, corporate meditations, and in-person courses. All the went away nearly overnight. I knew I wanted the freedom of an online business; I just didn’t think it would happen so quickly. I had to make moves. I started teaching a weekly free yoga class online. I turned my in-person course to a virtual one. I signed up for an online business coaching mastermind that cost almost as much as my rent in LA. It was worth EVERY penny to have the support as aI pivoted. Now, my business is primarily online and thriving, and I have all of the freedom to live and work from wherever!
