We recently connected with Anna Cameron and have shared our conversation below.
Anna, appreciate you joining us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
Thank you for having me! You know, I’ve always had a passion for design and creativity, but it wasn’t until I moved to Charleston from NYC that I saw the potential of turning that passion into a full-service brand and film studio. I’ve worked in the film industry for over a decade and had been freelancing for different companies as a designer when I realized I could take everything I was doing to the next level and be my own boss.
I started by outlining what my own studio could look like. What services would I offer? How could I build my own brand that reflected my personality and values? I dove into research watching videos, reading SO MANY articles, and shaping my business brand as an extension of me.
I was pregnant with my daughter, raising my toddler, when I realized “what am I so afraid of?” I want to show my children that if you work hard on your dreams, anything is possible. So, the first few months were a whirlwind of setting up a website, gathering my portfolio, and branding myself. I started pitching my services quietly to friends and acquaintances and then it slowly grew as I gained more confidence. The leap from freelancing to running my own studio wasn’t easy, but it was one of the most empowering decisions I’ve ever made. Now, I get to create on my terms, blending passion with purpose every day.

Anna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Of course! I’m Anna Cameron, an actor, mom, and the creative mind behind the Cameraon Creative design & film studio. My journey started in the acting industry where I learned the importance of branding and authenticity. I took that knowledge with me as a freelancer designing websites and whipping up creative content for small businesses. One day, I had this lightbulb moment, why am I working for others when I could be my own boss?
My studio is all about creating bold, beautiful branding, web designs, and films that truly feel like YOU. Whether it’s crafting a scroll-stopping website, building a brand that feels like your personality exploded, or putting your brand or event on film, I’ve got you. I help my clients connect with their audiences in ways that are authentic to their story, creative, and fun.
What I’m most proud of is seeing my clients light up when they realize their dreams are coming to life. If you’re ready to create something that feels like “you,” I’m your girl.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Yes! My journey took a completely unexpected turn, and even now, it feels surreal. While I had always loved the arts, my passion for mental health initially led me toward the medical field. I worked in emergency rooms and at a mental hospital while performing in plays purely for the joy of it. My goal was to specialize in drama therapy, a perfect blend of helping others and creative expression. But over time, I started to feel burned out. The clinical approach didn’t quite satisfy the deeper pull I felt toward storytelling and connecting with people in a raw, emotional way.
Then, life surprised me. I was scouted for my acting! The scouts saw something in me that I sometimes still struggle to see myself. They encouraged me to showcase my talent for agents and casting directors in New York City. Before I knew it, I signed with a wonderful agent who believed in me and told me to take the leap, move to NYC and chase what felt like an impossible dream.
It was a big risk, but I thought, carpe diem! The medical path would always be there, but this opportunity to pursue the arts felt once in a lifetime. So, I packed my bags, moved to New York, and everything changed. That pivot turned out to be one of the most fulfilling and life-changing decisions I’ve ever made.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
A core mission driving my creative journey is to help people bring their authentic selves to life in their brands. In a world where so many business logos blend together, I want yours to pop! My mantra is simple: YOU are your brand. It works every time!
When you lean into what makes you unique, your quirks, your personality, your STORY, that’s when the magic happens. Brands rooted in authenticity stand out, connect on a deeper level, and truly resonate with their audience. My goal is to help clients embrace who they are and reflect that in every design and film I create.
Whether I’m designing a logo, crafting a website, or shooting a wedding film, it’s all about amplifying my client’s voice and making sure their brand is unmistakably them. Helping people take that leap and seeing the incredible results is what keeps me inspired every day.
