We were lucky to catch up with Ann B recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ann, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
I love being a business owner. I am currently working a full time job I’m a supervisor at a fertility clinic. I definitely think about taking that leap of faith and saying to hell with my job and go full force with my lingerie business. I have these thoughts at least once a month so I know it’s coming soon.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Well I’m a mom of 4 beautiful children and three grand children. I got into the sex industry because lingerie and sex toys plays a part in that industry during covid. At the time when I started my business it was just for just money I was furloughed from me job just lost my daughters father at the time. Once I got started with making sales and the feedback I was getting from my customers I knew it was more than just about money I’m actually making a difference in these women lives. Naughtyish Lingerie is not just about lingerie. It’s about confidence sexuality and being comfortable overall in your being.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think what helped me the most with building my reputation is just being myself and being transparent.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to learn that my biggest supporters will not be my friends and family but strangers. I had to learn not to take it personally and to keep striving and thriving.
