We recently connected with Ankita Prasad and have shared our conversation below.
Ankita, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
I still remember the day, not because of the amount I earned but the feeling it gave me. She found me through my instagram page, and asked me to make a portrait of a baby boy. Knowing that my portraits could create an emotional bond with people gave a sense of satisfaction and purpose. She didn’t just take that portrait with her but a lifetime emotion. It motivated me to keep creating memories for the people and their friends and family.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Whenever someone asks me to introduce myself, I still pause for a second – because how to you sum up something that’s so deeply a part of who you are?
If i had to begin somewhere, i would say i have always been someone who found comfort in creating. Ever since i was a child, drawing came naturally to me. I didn’t need much – just a pencil, a quiet space and my imagination. Among family and friends, i was always “The Artist”, but i never really thought this love for art could become something more than just a hobby.
In 2022, life took a turn, i was going through a phase of emotional highs and lows, the kind that quietly shifts something inside you. In the middle of all that chaos inside me, I instinctively picked up my pencil again after so many years. It started as just an escape, but day by day, sketch after sketch, i began to feel something I hadn’t felt in a long time: peace, joy and deep sense of completeness.
I didn’t stop this time. I kept creating, every single day. And somewhere in that process, I began to rediscover myself – not just as someone who draws but as an artist with a purpose.
It was not easy to decide what should i create? What inspires me? In the beginning there were no clear answers – just a quiet urge to keep going. I tuned into myself and paid attention to what moved me the most.
Slowly, everything started falling in place.
I realized I’m endlessly fascinated by people – their expressions, the stories their eyes tell without saying a word. Capturing those subtle emotions, that unspoken humanity, became the heart of my art. And that’s how my online platform Faces of Humans was born.
Today, my page isn’t just a gallery- it’s a growing collection of raw, honest moments that connect me to people i’ve never even met. Art for me, is not just about what i see, but what i feel and i hope others will feel too.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to create art in itself is so rewarding for me. It’s a connection between you and your inner self. When your art speaks more words and connects with others is in itself most incredible experience.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In my opinion giving equal value to artists just like other professions is important. Investing in art education, and providing good work platform is another way to encourage artists to make it a full time job.
Once i was at an art gallery and someone asked me what you do? I said, i am an artist – then he said “OH” i mean what is your day job?
Like i said artist need space and recognition in the society where their art is respected and valued enough as a profession that they don’t need to do any other “DAY JOB”.
