We were lucky to catch up with Anju K recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anju , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I am a dreamer and a strong believer. I always believed in my dreams and crazy looking ideas. Apart from this, I love to take risks with backup plans. There is never a failure, only we need to find a different way to do anything we want. Now coming to my story, I am full of them…it feels like God was in some adventurous mood when he was writing my life story. I am a domestic violence and sexual assault survivor. My abuser was my husband, we were married for around 11 years with 2 kids. My marriage was a difficult one, I suffered every kind of violence and abuse through out my life but I never gave up. Every night I told my kids that I will bring them out of that hell, and they asked me, HOW?
I always knew that I will do it and finally I did that. A year ago, I lost everything in a single moment. I was a homeless with 2 kids but I was not hopeless.
Just imagine a life without any support or money in an unknown country. As I was not ready to give up, the whole universe came together to support me. Yes, my abuser took everything which was materialistic, but he couldn’t took my courage, knowledge and resilience.
I knocked every single door, not of individuals but I reached out all the resources available. I connected all the dots to fulfill our basic needs ( safe housing, clothing, food). I lived in an emergency shelter for 9 months, I call it my re-birth.
It was the place where I turned my pain into purpose, It was the beginning of my transformation from a victim to a survivor. The feeling was so powerful that I started a new dream, a dream to help others in their healing journey, it is my journey to peace. That’s how it started, HEALING2PEACE.
Now the next step was to make it a reality, and without money, a new system of laws it looked difficult. Every other day, I was crying and wanted to give it all. Then my resiliency helped me to see how far I have already come and I felt grateful, I felt blessed. I started looking for mentors, I reached out to different people with my scattered ideas, I found my tribe and we all started working together towards my dreams.

Anju , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Those who never heard or read about me, I am not unfamiliar. I am YOU. Yes, we are very similar, we are readers, we are learners, that’s why you are reading this. Like I told you earlier that I was reborn, truly it happened. For 13 years, I was killed again and again, my dreams were destroyed again and again. Also I stood straight again and again. I have an educational background in computers, psychology and designing. I try to understand my clients and customers from their point of view, I help dreamers to design their vision into something meaningful and sustainable. I am a person who believes in collaboration over competition by keeping in mind to not to please everyone. Earlier I was also in the phase where we want to do everything, then I realized that it stress us more and decreases our productivity. So I started building a team of the right experts. With my brand and business, I do the same. We focus on bringing out the best of anyone and connect them to each other. We are especially proud in working with DV and abuse survivors as their needs are different and we understand them better with kindness and compassion. We help non-profit organizations, law enforcement and community to work together. We convert rejection into motivation through our specialized training programs, workshops and individual sessions.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
It’s pretty simple- Be Just You, BE AUTHENTIC!
Don’t hide your flaws, everyone have some story, share it, be real. We are not actors, we are real super heroes in our stories, and every super hero make mistakes in their journey. Share your mistakes, you will learn from them, others will learn from them and you will be more comfortable and confident.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Not just a time, my life is a rollercoaster. From a year, I was not having a stable source of income. I visit doctors 3-4 times a week, I can’t drive so I travel public buses 7-9 hours/day on average. Even then in a year, I created 3 different businesses, one for my passion, one for my purpose and one to support my kids life. I am very good in managing finances at a pretty good age of 31. I learned this skill through experience.
