We were lucky to catch up with Anita Ibama recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Anita, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

The story behind my brand and mission is solely to leave my customers feeling confident, glowing and hydrated! I meet all types of people on a daily basis. People with major skin problems, acne problems, dull skin, and people who have never tried organic skincare before.

Most of the people that I meet with major skin problems have been in and out of dermatology clinics for years with no end results. When these customers run into me, their confidence is usually low with no knowledge of organic skincare.

Within 2-14 days I’ve been able to give these same customers the confidence they’ve always wanted revealing their clear, hydrated and glowing skin. When I meet customers with dull skin they often ask me if I’ve added glitter in my products, which I then have to laugh and inform them that that’s just they’re skin naturally glowing.

My customers are always surprised and often impressed, with their new found confidence that my product provides. Lavish customers who have never experienced natural skincare often thank me for the knowledge and they’re new found glowing skin. These experiences mean the most to me. Being able to provide the best product means the world to me.

Customers often react to the experience of being able to meet and interact with a person of my caliber makes me completely grateful.

Anita, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Anita Ibama, but some people know me as “Ms. Lavish” on social media. I am the CEO and founder of Lavish Shea Butter which can be found in shop at Mall of America or online at Lavishsheabutter.com. I hand make real and raw organic skincare for my customers through solely organic and high quality ingredients. My products include raw shea butter infused with turmeric for dark spots and acne prone skin. CBD butters for muscles and joint pain, and uniquely designed hair growth oils known to treat thinning hair and hair loss in customers. Ive been in business for about 3 years. I graduated the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. I specialize in making sure my customers have soft, hydrated, and glowing skin year round. My products treat dry skin, acne, and eczema or any common skin problem. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to build a platform, and a solution for many different people.

What sets me apart from other brands is that my products are 100% hand made fresh daily for my customers. My customers receive freshly whipped products every day at my kiosk located at the Mall of America.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

My brand is known for its authenticity when it comes to organic and pure African Shea Butter and natural products. My products contain raw material, with no added preservatives or harsh fragrances, and my customers really appreciate that. Due to my scientific background, I’ve been able to treat multiple acne-prone and eczema- prone skin for over 3 years now. People of all skin types talk to me about the skin struggles they’ve been facing for years. My turmeric treatment butter is treats dark marks, acne scars, active acne and any common skin problems in the time period of only 2 weeks, which has been proven time and time again when my customers show me their results and send I’m their reviews.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

Be the example that you aim for! Your team should consist of like-minded people with common goals. Holding your team accountable in their roles for the brand is very important.
