We recently connected with Anita Armstrong and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anita, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
As the “black sheep” or “odd ball” of my family I always felt out of place and left out. Growing up I was not interested in what my peers were doing. I did not have a plan for college, let alone a plan for life. I went through the motion of what my mother expected me to do. I knew sitting stagnant would push me into a place of despair that I might not be able to wrestle free from. So, I moved aimlessly towards what seemed right. I was always a responsible helper. I am happiest when I am helping others reach new levels in their journey. As I went through life, I met nations of people needing the skills and talents I possessed. For many years I floated between careers and jobs while tiptoeing around what truly made my heart dance. Through various experiences I learned more about who I am, and what my purpose is.
When COVID-19 hit us all I leaned on God by not returning to my then job, but to begin a new thing in my life. I began to focus on how I could create an income based on the skills, gifts, and talents I have been blessed with. I now work for myself. My career is my business, Inner Circle Ministries Management. My overall goal is to live well according to what God has in store for me, and to provide others with avenues to do the same.
Helping and serving others has always been my why. Inner Circle Ministries Management strives to serve in excellence indefinitely.
Anita, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As an individual I earnestly want every person to live life full of joy. As a company I can put muscle behind the dreams and goals of each client. Inner Circle Ministries Management offers Literacy Coaching, mentorship for youth and adults, Facebook stores, Worship Arts classes, residential and business cleaning services, life assistance services, social media platform creation and management, daily encouragement via Exercising Your Faith Podcast, and the Woman Code Facebook ministry group.
Inner Circle Ministries Management is an umbrella of various services providing solutions in the Central Texas area. We operate with a biblical foundation, therefore, all that we do is ministry driven to connect and create Godly relationships.
I am most proud that no matter what we face, we continue to push forward in excellence.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is a huge part of my business presence. The feedback I receive most is the human aspect and personality presented across my platforms. Clients and potential clients understand that I see and respect them. I meet them where they are, and work with them at their level.
Social media is constantly “on” with new trends and tools. I encourage those who are just starting in social media to establish a team, or pattern that is staying current with the updates. Having an identifiable “face” is vital. Your logo, color scheme, and content is what people will connect with. How and what is presented to the social world needs to be memorable and relateable. When possible take content creation classes/course to remain marketable. A social media tool I love is Canva. I use Canva Pro for my platforms and my clients to give a clear, clean and fresh look.
Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
D’Nita’s Attic is one of the Facebook stores I host. The store has a large handmade section of jewlery where a portion of the proceeds go into funding the Books For Prisoners ministry with 4U Ministries. Our hand painted bookmarks and glass Christmas ornaments are a favorite all year round. All of the books we carry are written by Denetra Moore, Dee Levens, and Jorie West which are Texas based authors. I have designed a spiritual apparel line that is such a joy to me. Whenever I see someone wearing one of my shirts or jackets, I feel like God just gave me a giant hug!
It blesses my heart so much to have this Facebook store. I have been pondering on branching out to create a physical boutique one day. We shall see what 2023 brings.
