We were lucky to catch up with Anisa Turner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anisa , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
In the music industry we take risk everyday. As an artist manager the risk I take are a little different. I’ve once risked it all to make sure we did everything that needed to be done so that we could meet a deadline. Risking it all in this game could be missing meals, missing fun, missing family, and sometimes missing opportunities and money. But in the end it’s all worth it. It’s all part of the game.

Anisa , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Everyone calls me Ace or know me as Ace the Manager. I started managing artists in 2021. I just love music and I have an ear for talent. At first I was doing a favor for a friend but I was going hard with it and people started noticing me. I was state to state, in everything I could be at the time. I got recognized by Alabama’s Fatt Macc and he asked me to help him with shows. He was signed to Atlantic at the time but he still had his own team so I agreed to do what I could. I set up his interview/performance with FamousAnimal in Texas and the rest was history. Even though we don’t do much work anymore due to our lives and different paths I’ve supported him since day one and continue to support him and all of his guys. I love them boys like they my blood. After working with Macc I started working with other artists in the game and getting recognition behind the scenes. I don’t consider myself a manager anymore I look at myself more like a mentor, a dot connector. Someone who helps independent and upcoming artists get to where they would like to be. That’s how I got the name 4lanes Ace. I started working with Bam, who is head of 4lanes Management. He put me all the way in the door. I made connections with a lot of labels, I learned the business side of things, and I learned how to properly move through the industry. Between Bam and my Marketing partner Ghost they made me a secret weapon( ghost is really the secret weapon ) haha but they would say I am because I’m the Lady of the 3. All together we are a crazy force not to be played with it’s a little scary, haha. I handle all of the paperwork, contracts, producer agreements, sometimes even artist artwork. A lot of behind the scenes with some of your favorite producers & artists. What makes me different from others is my drive, I’m very ambitious. I’m genuine, everything I do is genuine and you don’t find that nowadays. It’s no cut cards with me everything as is, behind the scenes and on the scene you get the same feisty Ace. If you know ya know. I love that about me.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Honestly this is a big thing for me. I’ve been talking about this since day 1. SHARE share share. If you see someone drop a video, a song, a post on socials, anything you can share just do it. You don’t know how much that helps artists, creatives! You don’t even have to put anything on the post when you share it just share. Sometimes I go back and share old things on artists pages cause you never know that old song or video might be new to someone. Support is support and trust me artists appreciate the little things
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Yes, the internet & books should be your best friends. When I say internet I don’t mean social media, even tho that helps too. I mean studying, gaining knowledge of things. You can go on YouTube and learn how to change a tire or do an oil change. You can do the same when it comes to the music industry also. If you are a creative and can’t afford to invest in adobe and things like that or an artist who can’t afford to get a graphic designer get Canva. Practice makes perfect.
