We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ania Volovique. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ania below.
Ania, appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
I was living the “American Dream”, checking off the boxes of good job, house, marriage…and then realized it wasn’t MY dream. I was not happy and was just moving through the motions each day. As scary as it felt at the time, I decided to recreate my life from the ground up. I quit the safe job, left the toxic marriage and started my photography business.
For the first time in my life, I chose myself. The risk of staying the same far outweighed the risk I may fail. I dove head first into personal development to understand myself deeper and to strengthen my emotional intelligence. This led me into the coaching industry which I then connected with photography.
Taking a chance and risking everything opened the doors to a new life. A life I never would have even dreamed of 10 years ago.
Following my intuition reconnected me with my own soul. I now live a life that is fully my dream come true.

Ania, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I curate one of a kind, unique photography experience for coaches and entrepreneurs – allowing their soul to be fully expressed and celebrated.
Going beyond just a photoshoot, it is a transformational experience that helps you to embody your true essence and connect deeper to your purpose. The photos hold an energetic charge that magnetizes the right clients and spreads the message to those who need to hear it.
Another piece of my practice is somatic release facilitation and coaching. Having gone through a brain cancer experience and healing myself without any traditional methods, I deeply understand the mind-body connection. Our bodies are always communicating with us, we just need to stop and listen.
Through my coaching practice, I guide women through any limiting beliefs that are preventing them from fully expressing themselves and living a life on their terms.
My deepest desire with photography, as well as coaching is to support women in realizing their dreams. Any perceived limitations are just illusions of the mind. based on societal conditioning. When space is created, true healing and transformation can occur.
Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my business occurred in the last 2 years. Given the state of the world, everyone had to adjust in some ways. For a photography business, the pivot was pretty big. I changed all my packages and how I marketed.
When it was safe and people became comfortable being photographed, I began offering mini sessions. I couldn’t have hair and makeup team due to the mandates, so clients relied on their own skills. We went from full day, full team experiences to a quick shoot to update their photos.
In addition to shifting how photoshoots were done, I also shifted the focus to my coaching practice. People needed mental support like never before and it could be done in the comfort of their home, just with a computer. I connected with another coach and we began facilitating group programs helping hundreds of people heal past trauma.
Being flexible is a needed quality for any entrepreneur. Not much is really in our control, so ability to pivot at the right time is crucial.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth has been the best strategy for me. My top priority is working with people that feel like a good match from the start. I’m not looking to force anyone to work with me. It has to feel good for everyone involved.
When it feels like the right match, the energy behind the relationship is based on trust. My intention is to meet my clients’ needs and exceed their expectations. When that happens, they naturally want to share with the people in their life. It’s a natural reciprocity.
Energy is key.
Believe in what you have to offer and work with those that are excited to work with you.
Don’t forget to ask for a referral if they loved working with you. Many people simply forget to ask for referrals :)
