We were lucky to catch up with Ania Sari recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ania, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
Earlier this spring, I was involved in an car accident that redirected the trajectory of my plans as it pertained to music. I came out of the accident with a totaled car, a sprained neck and some. This was not too long after announcing I’d be working on more visuals, music, some big opportunities to perform, and dropping an EP later in the fall. I don’t think anyone could understand what I was going through because all of my pain couldn’t be seen, only felt. I had to focus on healing and completely detach from my plans for myself and curate a new strategy for overall wellness from the inside out.
While for a moment it felt extremely discouraging. There have been a lot of blessings throughout this healing journey along with a lot of lessons. Although I couldn’t follow through with my plan in that specific timeframe, I realize it didn’t mean I couldn’t still pursue my dreams and goals. After finding what can work for me I am happy to say I am back and better in more ways than I could’ve expected.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Ania Sari, I am a singer from Grosse Pointe Michigan and was also raised in Los Angeles. I started singing at a very young age and from that point on I’ve always wanted to find a way to keep music prevalent in my life.
After exploring many different options of career paths, I decided music is clearly the one thing I would love to do for the rest of my life.
My first music video for a song called PBK (Peanut Butter Kisses) has been released and I am so excited to have finally made it to this point! You can find me on all platforms as Ania Sari; my music video is live on YouTube!
I have released multiple songs, and am working on more always! While building a Fanbase I am hoping to attract people who resonate with my music and my story, and look to me as a form of not only Entertainment, but inspiration as well.
As a musician, there are so many different creative industries we work with. I am always open to working with other musicians and producers! If you are a photographer, Videographer, make up artist, Stylist, business owner of a brand; never hesitate to reach out! As I am actively working on new projects. I am always open to collaborating and featuring different brands amongst my content and projects as well.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Well, I feel like social media is something a lot of creators use as a tool. There are a lot of people who view it as a place to aimlessly scroll consuming content but don’t realize that this is a way that people are making their income, building brands and more. I feel like society needs to be more supportive in liking, sharing, if it’s something you like, definitely show your support and possibly share with someone else you believe would like it too. There’s no such thing as too much support.
Unfortunately, in the music industry, along with many other industries, everything has become a numbers game! Showing your support to someone could help them finally get the opportunity they’ve been waiting for. As a society we need to look at what people are doing as more than hobbies but as a way of living a life of purpose.
It may not be the “typical” job of a doctor, lawyer, or career we find “important” but it is still important and has an impact so we should treat it as such. In this age of social media, and everything going viral, supporting by following, liking, commenting and sharing as much as you can can really make a difference.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Following your dreams is not always for everyone depending on what you go through in life. That was a something I was told from someone else that I was trying not to grasp onto. I’ve had a lot of resistance as it comes to pursuing a music career. My family has always been supportive, but if it’s not one thing, it’s another!
There have been times where I unexpectedly lost a job, had changes in my living circumstances, transportation issues, so many things outside of also being a young, single mother. In order to be a musician, you have to have a way to fund your dreams. While there were times of ease, it seem liked more times than not it was very difficult to stay consistent due to other factors making it extremely difficult. I would wonder and get others opinions on what I should try and do so I can give my son the best life possible but also feel fulfilled. No one gave me the “right” answer. Not one person suggested I keep on pursuing my passion. In my eyes I was being told to give up and that is not an option.
There are a lot of people who never follow through all the way on their dreams due to life circumstances, choices, and things that may have unexpectedly changed the trajectory of their life. Sometimes that’s understandable but in my case I choose to believe otherwise.
As someone who is so strongly passionate about not only my desires and dreams, but what I believe following my passions can do for not only me but my family. I believe sometimes you just have to have a little bit more faith, courage, determination, and ambition to get it done.
I don’t think there is one story of a successful person that it came easy to. No matter what it looks like from the outside; everyone has their struggles. I spent time trying to take a different direction, maybe go to school for something more “realistic” for me.
I also believe that there is a greater blessing that will come from doing what I believe in my heart is meant for me, and my story is not anyone else’s story but my own.
Therefore, we cannot look at someone else’s life and determine the outcome of our lives based off of what we see. We may be the one to do something that hasn’t been done, your ending can turn out differently. You’ll never know unless you try.
