We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ania Howard. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ania below.
Ania, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
Conservation! A traditional view can still predict a well-suited future for fashion. The long conventional route may take more time than expected to get to that specific goal we have in mind, which we can ALL agree with the “old way” of things. However, why skip steps? Steps that were skipped, are now minor errors shown in work itself. As a result, it leads to the odds of longevity becoming more realistic, and that’s that shit we don’t want for any business (excuse my language, HA)!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
Given that my background is in the retail industry, the brand Accentra has grown to what it needs to be at this present time. I’ve been working on my brand for two years, and I’m incredibly proud of all the increases/decreases that’s been shown throughout its entirety. New clients continue to support Accentra with no questions asked, and OH how I love ’em for that! As I continue to wear the items presented through our site as my uniform, it’s always comforting when new faces show love in person about the fits. It’s those confirmations that makes it all worth it.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Hmm, no backstory needed when we can generalize a lesson I was forced to learn the hard way. We all have our own pursuits in life. Thus, if we plan to include others in our objectives, please understand it comes with challenges. Family and friends are the closest individuals to you in your environment so one may reach out to them first. However, that idea may affect your mindset towards your brand later on. I want to be transparent as possible; Inclusion can be problematic. If you want to establish a brand, understand that was a “you thing” or personal goal YOU set for yourself. If you plan to include those around you, please learn the differences between personal and business. I definitely should’ve.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Become transparent with your team and learn about the idea of perception. Short and sweet yet truly powerful! I promise it will save you a ton of headaches HA!
