When I first started my journey in the world of aesthetics, I knew I wanted to create something different; a space that not only offered cutting-edge treatments but also honored the unique beauty of each person who walked through the door. As a nurse practitioner and an artist with a background in sculpting and portrait painting, I’ve always been fascinated by the interplay between art and science. To me, beauty isn’t about perfection; it’s about celebrating what makes each of us distinct and empowering individuals to feel like the best versions of themselves.
Maven Medi Spa was born from this mission: to combine my medical expertise and artistic vision to help people achieve natural, subtle enhancements that elevate their confidence without changing who they are. I wanted Maven to be a place where people could trust that their wellness and aesthetic goals would be treated with the utmost respect and care. My mission has always been about more than simply delivering results; it’s about creating an experience where clients feel truly seen and valued.
Launching Maven wasn’t easy—it required resilience, risk, and an unwavering belief in my vision. I faced challenges along the way, but they only strengthened my commitment. I saw firsthand that success in this field isn’t just about technical skills or business acumen. It’s about listening to each person’s story, understanding their goals, and using all of my skills to help them achieve those goals. My Journey to Aesthetics and Maven Medi Spa
For those of you who might not know me, I’m Ani, founder of Maven Medi Spa and a nurse practitioner with a lifelong passion for both art and wellness. My journey into aesthetics wasn’t a straight line. In fact, it was anything but. I started with a degree in arts, specializing in sculpting and portrait painting, where I learned to see beauty in subtle details and to create balance with my hands. But life had different plans. Eventually, I was drawn to healthcare and became a registered nurse. It wasn’t until later that I found the perfect way to combine both my passions: aesthetics.
The transition to aesthetics may sound smooth, but it came with its challenges. I was a mom balancing pregnancies, raising kids, and pushing through long days and nights as a bedside nurse. It was tough. I’d be lying if I said there weren’t moments when I questioned whether I could keep going. But I’ve always believed in pushing through. I knew that if I kept moving forward, I could create something truly special.
When I finally found aesthetics, it felt like coming home. My background in art gave me a natural advantage. I could use my hands and my eye for detail in ways that helped my clients look and feel their best. At my first training, I was even offered a job on the spot by the trainer, who recognized that my artistic skills set me apart. But that didn’t make everything easier. There were still hurdles to overcome: juggling motherhood, continuing my education, and trying to carve out my own space in the industry.
What drives me in my work today is the opportunity to empower my clients. At Maven Medi Spa, I don’t just provide treatments—I use my medical expertise and artistic background to enhance each person’s unique beauty in a way that feels natural and genuine. I’m most proud when clients look in the mirror and see the best version of themselves, feeling confident and empowered.
I hope that when people think of me and my work, they see someone who’s real. I’m not perfect. I’ve had my fair share of struggles, but those struggles have only deepened my commitment to creating an environment at Maven Medi Spa where people feel seen, understood, and truly valued.

Life has a way of throwing challenges at us, and my journey is no exception. I started out in the art world, surrounded by creativity and beauty, but I eventually transitioned to nursing. While I appreciated my time as a bedside nurse, I felt a strong pull towards aesthetics; something that resonated with my artistic background and passion for helping others feel confident in their skin.
The shift wasn’t easy. I had a full-time job, three little kids, and a dream to pursue aesthetics. There were times when I had to make tough choices, like missing my kids’ back-to-school nights because of work commitments. I often felt guilty, torn between my responsibilities as a mother and my desire to build a career. But I knew that listening to my inner calling was essential.
Pursuing my dreams required resilience and determination. I went back to school to get the training I needed to inject, despite the challenges of balancing my education with family life. There were many late nights and moments of self-doubt, but I kept reminding myself: It’s better to regret what you’ve tried than to regret what you didn’t pursue at all.
When life gets hard, it’s a sign that you’re on the right path. It means you’re getting closer to your goals. Today, I can proudly say that I’ve turned my passion for aesthetics into a fulfilling career. My artistic eye allows me to enhance my clients’ natural beauty, and I love being part of their journeys.

Building my reputation in the aesthetic market has been a journey defined by my unique blend of skills and authenticity. My background in art has given me a significant advantage; aesthetics is not just a medical field but an artistic one as well. My artistic training allows me to approach injections with a creative eye, which translates into more precise and harmonious results. Different artistic techniques enhance my ability to inject in a way that considers the unique features of each client, leading to outcomes that not only meet but often exceed their expectations.
In addition to my artistic skills, I pride myself on being authentic with my patients. During consultations, I always strive to provide honest recommendations based on what’s best for them. There are times when I have to say no to certain treatments if I believe they aren’t the right fit. I think patients appreciate this level of transparency; it builds trust and reinforces my commitment to their well-being. When clients feel valued and understood, they are more likely to return and refer others to my practice.
Ultimately, it’s this combination of artistic talent, unique injection techniques, and genuine care for my clients that has helped me establish a solid reputation in the aesthetic community.
