Angiebeth, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

When it came to Ola Design Studio, I wanted a name that honored my roots and where I come from. I needed something that could be easily pronounced in both Spanish and English and that would capture the essence of the Caribbean, the ocean, and the tropical vibes.
Ola Design Studio is an interior design firm, and I wanted a name that reflected the amazing journey I go through with my clients. I was born in Miami but raised in a beach town in Venezuela, and the ocean has always been my place to reconnect and find inspiration. That’s exactly the feeling I wanted my business name to inspire: a place where creativity flows and transformation happens.
‘Ola,’ meaning ‘wave’ in Spanish, felt like the perfect representation. Waves are constantly transforming, no two are alike, yet each one is beautiful and unique, just like every design project I take on. For me, design is a journey, where the process is just as important as the result. Waves, much like design, have a rhythm and flow, and their beauty lies in their uniqueness. I wanted my brand to symbolize that sense of movement, transformation, and the beauty in every step of the process.

Angiebeth, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m Angiebeth Avendano, the founder of Ola Design Studio. With an architectural degree from Venezuela, I’ve specialized in residential design in Florida. My background as an event planner has greatly influenced my passion for planning, executing, and ultimately transforming spaces into beautiful, functional environments. This blend of architecture and event planning allows me to approach interior design with a unique perspective, ensuring that every detail is intentional and that my clients experience the joy of a thoughtfully crafted space.
Design has always been about more than just aesthetics for me—my home has always been my sanctuary, and I believe true transformation comes from the inside out. At Ola Design Studio, we focus on affordable design that combines beauty and functionality. I’m passionate about helping families create spaces where they feel relaxed, organized, and always on vacation. I love telling my clients unique stories though their spaces.
The planning process is key for me—every detail is intentional, and I love showing clients how a well-organized space can transform their lives. It’s an amazing feeling to see families enjoy their homes in a new way, creating memories in spaces that truly reflect them.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been delivering exceptional results for my clients. When they’re happy with the work I do, they naturally share their experiences with others, leading to valuable word-of-mouth referrals. Additionally, I prioritize building strong relationships with general contractors and vendors, which has further enhanced my network and credibility in the industry.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is witnessing the transformative power of design in people’s lives. When I create a space that resonates with my clients and reflects their stories, it’s incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that my work contributes to their memories, gatherings, and everyday experiences is what drives my passion. I love being part of their journey, helping them find beauty and functionality in their spaces
