We recently connected with Angie Johnston and have shared our conversation below.

Angie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?

I believe that social media is successful if it is personal and you cannot outsource the personal size of social media. There are tools and resources available to automate your social media that you do not have to outsource to another company. By managing our social media by myself, I am able to be personable and connect with current and potential clients.

Angie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

We work with our clients to ensure that their event vision comes to life and that all of their guests have an amazing time. Sapphire Celebrations combines the energy, perspective and creativity of two generations when planning weddings and events throughout Colorado. Founded by a mother and daughter team, Sapphire Celebrations reflects their Colorado heritage. With family roots dating back to 1907 and covering the northeastern plains and Rocky Mountain vistas, there is no team better qualified to plan your Colorado wedding or special event.

Pamela and Angie are proud of the high level of service for which Sapphire Celebrations has come to be known. Two principal event designers, four associate wedding planners and and a team of wedding assistants take pride in exceeding the expectations of couples who entrust us with their event day.

Angie has devoured every wedding scene in every movie she has ever seen. Sapphire Celebrations represents the culmination of her lifelong dream to be a Colorado wedding and event coordinator. Angie has seventeen years of experience in wedding planning, more than a decade in corporate event planning and a dozen years in planning events for charities and philanthropic organizations in Colorado. With a sense of elegance and style Angie strives to remove the stress from her clients, while planning the Colorado event of their dreams. Angie graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with a Marketing emphasis.

Angie currently serves on the Board of the Greater Denver Chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) and is a member of the Colorado chapter of the Wedding International Professionals Association (WIPA).

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

She’s my mom, so we met on the day I was born and have known each other for a long time! When I got the idea to start Sapphire Celebrations I knew that I did not want to run the business on my own and she was the first person that came to mind. We have a unique mother/daughter relationship built on respect and open communication. Working with family is not always easy, but it is so rewarding! Our hard work and strong work ethics have built the foundation of one of the longest standing wedding and event planning businesses in Colorado.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Our vendor partners are one our best sources for new clients. Over the 18+ we have been in business we have had the honor to work with some of the best event vendors at the best venues in the state. The relationships we have built have awarded us a great resource in recommendations. The vendors and venues have seen the leadership style of our company and know that we will take care of their clients, friends, family and their team when Sapphire Celebrations is hired for the event. A close second is referrals form our clients or guests at our clients’ events! They see the Sapphire Celebrations team in action and know that it is a talent that they want in charge of their event.
