We recently connected with Angie George and have shared our conversation below.
Angie, appreciate you joining us today. Do you have a hero? What have you learned from them?
My hero is my dad. He passed recently which further made it more true than ever. Growing up, he worked a lot. He worked hard to provide for his family. At first, I wondered why he was always working and as I got older, I watched him and his work ethic. He never called in sick. He never complained, He only took off for any event of mine or my sister’s or a vacation once a year. He ran car dealerships. Was the first one in and the last to leave 6 days a week. He enjoyed it. When he was young, he worked for his dad and did a few other jobs while going to school. Until 1985, when my grandfather retired, my dad would work all day and then go to my grandparents’ restaurant and help out until closing. All while taking care of his family. I grew up seeing how much working is important and being a dedicated employee/employer is. I pride myself on my work ethic and perseverance all because of my dad.

Angie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m originally from Morgantown, WV. After college, I moved to LA to get out of the small town. I became an esthetician in 1997 shortly after moving here. I love working with one on one getting to know people from all walks of life. I started right out of school in Beverly Hills and worked at a couple of spas before, in 2000, I got a job in Studio City where I remained for 17 years. From 2000-2008, it was a spa. Then in 2008, it became a medical spa when taken over by a doctor. I became a medical esthetician and worked hard to build and maintain my clientele. I loved getting to know my clients and to this day, still have them, and several I consider close friends. I’ve worked with the greatest people and had the best time. In 2017, I went out on my own. I rented a space in a medspa also in Studio City. I perform many different treatments such as, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, micro current, Hydrafacial, acne, peels, light therapy, etc. When COVID hit, the industry shut down, but I managed to keep all of my clients and dove right back in when everything opened back up. I moved to Valencia and now work at the Paseo Club, renting a room in their spa where I have built even more, I love what I do. My clients trust me because I’m well educated in skincare and try not only to explain what I’m doing to my clients, but why. I want them to leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and well taken care of. I am open to any questions day or night. My clients know that I’m there for them.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth. I had to rely on referrals before social media existed. Since then, Instagram, Facebook, Yelp, and Google have been exceptionally helpful and I’m so glad I have those options. However, word of mouth and referrals still remain most important and effective,
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My dedication. I believe in what I do and the products I use. I’m very social and love to hear about other people. I think how I treat my clients is something that people like. I treat them like family and always make them feel comfortable and like I’m a friend
