Angie , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission :As a proud Latina esthetician and mother, my mission is to empower women through expert waxing and brow services that celebrate their natural beauty with confidence and care. I bring over a decade of experience, real-life hustle, and heart into every service, creating a safe space where clients feel seen, supported, and never rushed. Rooted in authenticity and community, I’m here to educate, uplift, and guide the next generation of waxers—especially those who come from where I come from—so they can build successful, soul-led careers. Whether behind the treatment table or teaching online, I lead with intention, stay grounded in my values, and never gatekeep the knowledge that changed my life

Angie , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi! My name is Angie, and I’m a proud Latina esthetician, brow artist, and body waxer with over 12 years of experience in the beauty industry. I was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles in a low-income household, which shaped both my hustle and my heart. I’ve always believed in creating a life that honors where I came from while building something bigger for myself and my family—especially as a mom and a business owner.
I officially started my own business five years ago, offering specialized services in Brazilian waxing and brow shaping. My studio is located in Orange, California, where I serve women—primarily between the ages of 20-40—who want more than just a service. They’re looking for a safe, welcoming space where they feel seen, cared for, and never rushed. I take pride in providing clean, consistent, and confidence-boosting results, and I work hard to make sure my clients leave feeling better than when they came in.
What sets my brand apart is the mix of technical skill, real-world experience, and authenticity I bring to every appointment. I don’t just remove hair—I educate my clients on skin care, empower them through honest conversations, and make sure they feel heard. I’ve also been expanding into the education space, mentoring and teaching newer estheticians, especially those from underserved communities. I’m passionate about not gatekeeping what I’ve learned—I want to help the next generation of waxers and brow artists build long-lasting, heart-led businesses.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come—from navigating personal challenges and shifts in my business to becoming a trusted expert in my field. I’ve built a strong online community, especially on Instagram and TikTok, where I share tips, real talk, and behind-the-scenes of my journey. My goal is to inspire other women—whether they’re clients or fellow estheticians—to know their worth, invest in themselves, and grow with confidence.
At the core of everything I do is a deep commitment to community, empowerment, and care. I want people to know that this business is personal—it’s about healing, connection, and building something meaningful, one wax, one brow, and one story at a time.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most defining chapters in my journey came after navigating the emotional and logistical challenges of a falling out with a former partner. At the same time, I was also deep into motherhood—my son is five now—and I was learning in real time how to balance raising a child while trying to build a stable, successful business. It wasn’t easy, and it didn’t happen overnight.
These last few years have been a masterclass in juggling it all. I’d take clients back to back in the mornings, rush out to pick up my son from school, get him settled, and then head straight into afternoon appointments. I was constantly shifting gears between being a full-time mom and a full-time entrepreneur. It was a lot—but it was also where I found my strength.
That season forced me to rethink how I was working. I tightened my schedule, raised my rates, got clear on the kind of clients I wanted to attract, and stopped doing things out of fear or obligation. I began creating a business that supported the life I wanted as a mother, not one that drained me. I also started showing up more authentically online, sharing my journey not just as an esthetician, but as a woman navigating life, loss, motherhood, and growth.
What I’m proud of is not just that I made it through that season—but that I used it to evolve. It made me more intentional, more grounded, and more passionate about empowering other women—especially those trying to do it all and still bet on themselves. My resilience wasn’t about never falling—it was about learning how to rise, again and again, with purpose.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Yes—what started as a side hustle absolutely became my full-time career and passion. I began my esthetics journey over 12 years ago, initially taking on waxing and brow services while working other jobs just to make ends meet. At the time, it was more about survival—I needed something flexible that allowed me to support myself financially. But even then, I knew I had a natural skill for making people feel confident and cared for.
In the beginning, I was hustling hard—taking clients wherever I could, working out of shared spaces, and saying “yes” to almost everything just to get experience. I’d often work long hours with very little return, but I was planting seeds and learning as I went. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was foundational.
The shift from side hustle to full-time business really started happening when I got clear on what I wanted: to create a consistent client base, raise my standards, and eventually have full control over my schedule, pricing, and space. A huge milestone for me was opening my own studio and establishing myself in Orange, CA. That’s when I realized—I’m no longer just “doing brows and Brazilians,” I’m building a brand.
Another big moment was when I fully transitioned into being self-employed and left behind any backup jobs or fallback plans. It was scary, but I bet on myself. I started investing more into my marketing, showing up consistently on Instagram, and using my voice to educate and connect—not just sell. That’s when things began to snowball.
I built loyalty through genuine client relationships, and soon I was fully booked. Then came the next evolution: I realized I didn’t just want to serve clients—I wanted to teach. I had gained so much knowledge, and I saw a gap in the industry where newer estheticians were hungry for guidance but didn’t know where to start. So now, I’m shifting into mentorship and education, creating resources and training opportunities rooted in experience, transparency, and empowerment.
The biggest milestone of all, though, is simply the fact that I built this—while being a mom, while navigating personal transitions, while figuring it all out along the way. This side hustle became my career because I never gave up on it, even when it was hard. I stayed committed, and now I get to live out my purpose every day doing what I love—and helping others do the same.
