We were lucky to catch up with Angelo Edalo Marinelli recently and have shared our conversation below.
Angelo Edalo , appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
It takes many years to accomplish things that may seem out of the reality but it can be done. If you are dedicated to your passion or craft, you will become the master of it overtime. Learning the craft is about continuous progress. It’s not about giving up. It’s about learning all the ways you can be better.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a musician, composer, producer and multi-instrumentialist. I create all genres of music but under my artist name, “Edalo” I create and release live-electronic. I have been creating for over a decade now and have worked with people from all spectrums. Including Robby Takac from the Goo Goo Dolls and RobTwyce, Ray Charles’ grandson. I have also taught students of all ages the basic fundamentals of recording as well as even a child with appraxia. Music is my language and is my passion. I believe that there is a lot of talent out there and the best way to capture it is to record it. I have found happiness also helping other people with their projects. I’ve also done mixing, mastering and audiobook recording/editing. You can find me on all major music platforms.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
The best way society can help creatives is provide opportunities for them. Creatives can be very dedicated people as well as people who get the job done. Sometimes creatives struggle with finding jobs or fitting into the mold because they are so used to standing out. Society can accept creatives more by not being so judgemental towards those who are different. Being accepted for who you are is what would make society an all around better place.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I can’t really say much on NFT’s since I don’t know a lot on them but what I can say is…it’s crazy that you can sell an image for the price of a house with an invisible token. The world is changing so fast and even our money/currency is changing even faster. It’s hard to keep up with. x
