Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Angelle Morris . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Angelle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
You know what, I really love this topic and I’d love to dive in! My mission heavily ties into my values, principles, goals, and my purpose. When I started Noella Grace my mission was, “To inspire others to dream through style.”
Now, it’s more about providing high quality accessories that are extremely affordable.
Our business serves as a guiding principle for aiming to look your best without breaking the bank.
This mission that is set in place helps with establishing a long-term vision for the business and it also helps with keeping us focused and grounded.
Angelle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Sure! Well, outside of Noella Grace, I am a divorced mom of 2 great kids and I’m a Business Analyst for one of the largest health insurance companies.
I honestly believe that I’m in the fashion industry because of my grandmother, Grace. Ever since I was a little girl she would always look so beautiful. She’d have drawers filled with beautiful jewelry and beautiful accessories. Her closet would have the most colorful and unique handbags. I was in awe as a little girl!
Our business focuses on accessories for men, women, and children. Considering that certain kinds of accessories can get a bit expensive, we try to focus in on affordability. Our clients want to look their best and our goal is to make sure that they not only look good but their pockets feel good as well and that’s what sets us apart from others.
I am most proud of simply starting this business and also being a part of Acadian Fashionweek which had taken place in Lafayette, LA.
I feel as though we all have these dreams of doing certain things and going certain places, but sometimes we just don’t take the first step. I am so proud of myself for taking that step.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Yes, of course. I’d gladly discuss what illustrates my resilience.
Balancing Multiple Roles is definitely a part of my journey. I’ve learned to manage both my full-time job as well as my entrepreneurial venture while being the sole caregiver for my two children.
Overcoming Personal Obstacles has also been another part of my journey. I’ve been able to navigate the emotional and financial challenges of divorce while continuing to keep moving forward.
Self-Reliance is a big one. I have the ability to rely on your own resources and skills, as I have had very little external support.
Additionally, I’ve learned to adapt, despite the many changing circumstances of both my personal life as well as my business.
I must also include, persistence. I have overcome many setbacks which include anxiety, depression, financial issues, and health scares.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Absolutely! I would say that regularly communicating with your team, providing updates, feedback, and direction is a great start.
Additionally, setting clear goals is a must! This was very poor on my part when starting this business.
I also think you should always acknowledge and appreciate your team’s efforts and accomplishments. We must always recognize their hard work and celebrate achievements.
We must also foster a positive team culture through team-building activities, both in and outside of work.
Finally, we must be adaptable while also having an understanding of individual needs and circumstances and we must always lead by example!
