We were lucky to catch up with Angelique Wynn recently and have shared our conversation below.
Angelique , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love for you to start by sharing your thoughts about the pros and cons of family businesses
I’ve been immersed in our family-owned business, The Wynn Network, since I was 18, when my father, Dr. John Wynn, entrusted me with editing my first feature film. The Wynn Network, founded by my parents, Dr. John and Edith Wynn, in 2017, is a 24-hour inspirational television network rooted in our family’s dedication to faith, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Growing up as one of eight siblings, we’ve all contributed to the business while pursuing our individual passions and ventures. This dynamic has fostered a collaborative environment where family values blend seamlessly with professional aspirations. My parents have always emphasized the importance of ministry, education, and business, which has deeply influenced how we approach our work. Being part of this legacy has shaped my identity as a filmmaker and editor, allowing me to combine my passion for storytelling with our mission to inspire and uplift audiences worldwide.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Angelique Wynn, a filmmaker, editor, and creative visionary who has been immersed in the world of storytelling and production since I was 18. My journey began with The Wynn Network, a family-owned 24-hour inspirational streaming platform founded by my parents, Dr. John and Edith Wynn. Growing up in a creative and entrepreneurial household, I had the privilege of learning directly from my father, who entrusted me with editing my first feature film, John Wynn’s Mirror Mirror. This opportunity ignited my passion for filmmaking and opened doors for me to refine my craft in directing, editing, and producing dynamic visual content.
Today, I specialize in creating compelling films, documentaries, and promotional content for clients who want to share their stories in a powerful and visually stunning way. My work is focused on providing high-quality, meaningful narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Whether it’s editing a feature film, directing a short, or creating content for brands, I strive to combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of storytelling.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge creativity with discipline—a skill honed from working in a family business where collaboration and professionalism are key. I’m most proud of the legacy I’m building, not only as a part of my family’s business but also as an individual creator carving my unique path in the industry. For potential clients and collaborators, I want them to know that I’m deeply committed to excellence and storytelling that inspires, empowers, and leaves a lasting impact.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When COVID-19 hit in 2020, businesses everywhere faced an unprecedented need to pivot, and my family’s company, The Wynn Network, was no exception. As a 24-hour global streaming service and production company, we suddenly found ourselves at the forefront of helping others adapt to a digital-first world. Churches, ministries, politicians, and business owners who had relied on in-person engagement now needed high-quality virtual content to keep their communities and organizations connected.
Our workload grew significantly during this time, as ministry leaders turned to us to produce live-streamed services, Bible studies, and sermons. Politicians and business leaders sought our services to create impactful video messages, webinars, and promotional content. It was a pivotal moment that tested our capacity and creativity. To meet the demand, we expanded our production schedule, innovated with remote editing tools, and refined our streaming technology to ensure seamless delivery for our clients.
This pivot not only helped sustain The Wynn Network during a challenging time but also solidified our role as a trusted partner for creating vital, high-quality content. It was incredibly rewarding to know that our work was helping churches stay connected to their congregations and businesses stay visible to their audiences during such a critical time. The experience underscored the importance of flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to service in the face of change.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
In 2023, I felt a strong impression from God to create a testimonial-based podcast, Jesus First Then Coffee, which has become a platform for sharing stories of faith and perseverance. This podcast allowed me to connect with believers worldwide, building an audience inspired by these testimonies and discussions on living a righteous life. Alongside the podcast, my “Honey Listen” videos—brief, uplifting messages filled with biblical insights—have become a signature element of my social media presence. These one-minute videos resonate with viewers, offering encouragement and practical advice for daily Christian living.
The combination of the podcast and these impactful short videos has led to a growing, engaged following on social media. My content provides both spiritual encouragement and relatable messages, fostering a sense of connection and community. For those starting to build their social media presence, my advice is to remain authentic and focus on content that reflects your purpose and resonates deeply with your audience. Consistency and faithfulness to your calling can turn a small idea into a global movement.
For more about the podcast and its growth, you can explore platforms like Spotify or Amazon Music, where episodes like Delayed Not Denied showcase the heart of this journey.
