We were lucky to catch up with Angelique Jones recently and have shared our conversation below.

Angelique, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a little bit about my journey as a mom and how it led me to start not just one, but two amazing businesses.

Being a mom has always been a dream of mine, and I feel incredibly blessed to have been able to stay at home with my kids for the past 8 years. However, I think many moms can relate to the feeling of losing your identity and sometimes not feeling like you’re bringing enough value to your family, even though you absolutely are.

In 2020, when the world shut down and so many people lost their jobs, my husband, who was our one and only provider, unfortunately, lost his job too. It was a challenging time for us, but I immediately started thinking about ways I could step up and help financially. I started reflecting on my talents and realized that over the years, I had always enjoyed putting together balloon garlands for various events like birthday parties, baby showers, and holiday gatherings.

One day, when money was tight and I couldn’t afford a gift for a friend’s party, I offered to set up a balloon garland at her house instead. Little did I know that this small act of kindness would lead to something much bigger. Our teamwork was unmatched, and we decided to take a leap of faith. Before we knew it, we were getting booked by family and friends, and that’s how our balloon garland business, BubblyChicBalloons, was born.

Fast forward to today, and my friend has become my best friend and business partner. We’ve had so much success with our first business that we decided to venture into another industry together. We recently launched our second business in the hair, skin, and wellness industry. Our products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free/leaping bunny certified, and backed by science.

I have no regrets about starting either of my businesses. They have pushed me out of my comfort zone while still providing me with the time freedom to take care of my kids and household, which, to me, is priceless.

I wanted to share this story to inspire other moms out there who may be feeling like they’ve lost their identity or are looking for ways to contribute financially. Sometimes, the most unexpected opportunities can arise from challenging situations. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and explore your talents. You never know where it might lead you.

the ups and downs of being a housewife and mom. It’s important to me to be transparent and real because I want others to know that they’re not alone in their struggles.

Social media has been an incredible platform for me to connect with others in the same industries and spread awareness about my businesses. It has allowed me to reach a wider audience and share my passion for transformation, whether it’s through balloon decor or hair and skincare solutions.

One of the amazing things about social media is the opportunities it has brought my way. I never imagined that I would have the chance to work with big brands like Takis, Walmart, and Panera Bread. It’s been a dream come true and a testament to the power of social media in building connections and collaborations.

But what truly keeps me going and showing up every day is the support, encouragement, and messages from my supporters, friends, and family. It means the world to me when someone reaches out to me directly, relating to one of my posts and finding comfort in knowing that they’re not alone in their struggles. That’s why I strive to authentically share with my audience, because I want to give them hope and let them know that we’re all in this together.
