Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Angeline Low. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Angeline thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
The kindest thing anyone has done for me is belief in my success and support through my failures. Sure, I am independent and rely on intrinsic motivation, but it is nice to know how many people I have reached through all of my endeavors. Regardless of outcome, I always try. Failure is a teaching moment, so we learn and progress. There are times when self efficacy is diminished. Then there are times when clients, friends, and my father tell me of a single moment they shared with me, which impacted them deeply. This is the reason to continue to persevere. Obstacles and life are growth, so we must each find the meaning in those moments to move forward with life.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
When I first developed grip strength, I reached for makeup brushes and cameras, using each instrument regularly. Throughout the years my crafts have evolved. Currently, I am many titles: airbrush makeup artist, photographer, certified life coach, certified personal trainer, registered 500 hour yoga teacher, certified barre instructor, and more. Many people think each discipline is unrelated; however, I have been combining all disciplines throughout the years to help people heal. With airbrush makeup artistry, photography, and life coaching, I help people develop and strengthen self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-efficacy. Fitness certifications allow me to help people develop healthier habits to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertention, and other health complications. Additionally, I provide chakra readings and balancing to clients, so they may become more in harmony with their spiritual energy. Combining all areas helps provide clients with a more well rounded approach to discover what empowers and motivates them and to achieve clarity of life purpose and self-actualization.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
The most important factors to success are resilience, willingness to learn and grow, and understanding that perceived failure is merely an opportunity for growth. Many people try one thing then give up if they do not find success immediately. One must be willing to fail to succeed; otherwise, how will one learn? Trying the same thing repeatedly in the same method rarely works, so change tactics. Explore options. Be willing to think creatively, critically, and analytically. Remove oneself from perceived failure to view the bigger picture. What advice would you give to someone else in that situation? Would you encourage a friend or family member if s/he were faced with similar challenges? Know your weaknesses to hedge your strengths. Look inward to find clarity of the moment. If one cannot analyze oneself, hire a life coach to navigate through self-actualization.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Word of mouth is the best strategy. Recognition from peers to promote oneself is a great way to build one’s reputation. If someone in your field recommends you to another person, it shows your strength in your field. People want to know they can trust you, so growing one’s base involves a lot of work. Prove you are competent and able to do what is necessary to succeed for yourself and your clients.
