Angelina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
The journey was difficult from the beginning; there were moments where I felt like I was in over my head. I wanted to be a highly skilled cosmetologist with a huge clientele from day one. However, I was humbled quickly that I had to not only put the work in but the time required to get there. The light at the end of the tunnel wasn’t always bright, but as time passed I could say for the first time I owned a business that I was proud of and loved the clientele that I grew.
As I look back at where I started compared to where I am now, I am beyond thankful that I took the risk of leaving my previous career for a so-called unconventional career path. My only regret is that I didn’t make the step sooner.
Angelina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Since creating As Within Beauty LLC, I have been able to offer a wide range of cosmetic services from hair, body, to make up. I currently specialize in lash extensions, waxes, semi-permanent and permanent brow services, as well as personal training for lash extensions.
Over time, I have grown genuine relationships with each of my clients. Although I was able to make them happy with superficial enhancements, I wanted to add services that made a positive difference internally. Within the last year, I have rebranded and since incorporated energy healing in the form of reiki. I am proud to not only offer beauty services but spiritual services as well to help each of my clients better themselves from within.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
With each of my clients, new or old, I aim to provide my best no matter the service. It is not only my goal to achieve the results that my clients request but to ensure that they leave happy every time. I feel as though your reputation will not only grow a strong foundation but it will also speak for itself. Every product or service that reflects that you put your best effort in is not only seen but felt by those who receive them. The genuineness and quality will build your clientele base and allow them to trust you as they can also depend on your consistency. Another important thing to have available is a collection of reviews; this will not only display the quality you offer but the reputation you have built.
