Angelika, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Often outsiders look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight. Even media and especially movies love to gloss over nitty, gritty details that went into that middle phase of your business – after you started but before you got to where you are today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. Can you talk to us about your scaling up story – what are some of the nitty, gritty details folks should know about?

I scaled my photography business by networking and creating relationships. putting myself out of my comfort zone and really pushing myself was a huge aspect as well.

Angelika, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I run Angelika Selix Photography; and i specialize in concerts, families, and kids! With over 10 years in business i have been so grateful to meet such phenomenal people and clients.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

I started with $0 in my funding. i started with just a small camera my parents bought me until i saved up enough money for my own professional equipment. persistence and perseverance really is a key component of running a successful business.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?

i started out in the Concert industry and connected with so many people that led me to where i am today. i worked with very well know companies that eventually led me to well established musicians. Networking and showing your true passion is very key to getting to where you want to be with your business.
