We were lucky to catch up with Angelika Pagan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Angelika, appreciate you joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I had a “regular job’ most of my life working in the restaurant industry. It taught me a lot and its where I learned how to work under pressure at a fast pace. I don’t miss it one bit tho haha, I love the flexibility of making my own schedule and being the person my clients can come to. it does get stressful and is super lonely at times, but its all worth it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My love for brows started when I was 12 years old. My aunt always took me along with her when she would go get her facials, and it was my favorite. Her friend had a space she as renting in. nail salon. one day she waxed my brows, and I was hooked. mind you the trend for my sweet angel brows for the next 15 yers was going to literally be one line of hair (circa Christina aguliera dirrty era) but we will talk about that later. I grew up and found my first job at a restaurant as a hostess, and that Is the industry I remained in fr the next 17. years. along the way I decided to become a massage therapist, which was an interesting job, but I didn’t love it. I started working in a med spa and quickly realized that where I belonged was doing brows. I love everything about it. there is nothing better than getting a fresh brow wax, well maybe botox, but you can have both so hello. Brow lamination and Tinting is my main service as of late. Its a chemical service, that straightens the brow hair by changing the chemical bonds in the hair. sounds cray, and it is. it breaks down the bonds in each hair follicle allowing the hair to morph in to a new shape, thus resulting In a fluffy brow that’s twice the size! (depending on how much hair you have of course) everyones results are different and beautiful and you are not limited to one style, which makes it so fun. in care about what I do deeply, and pride myself on making my clients feel like the absolute best versions of themselves. brows can make you feel like a badass and my clients will 100% tell you that. I feel so blessed to be doing something that I’m in love with. I do this all day everyday and it does not get boringly love taking trainings and constantly continuing my education. its important to me and is what I believe sets me apart, things are always changing and growing, and that’s something I value very much in my own life. growth.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
honestly. word of mouth almost 100% each client becomes a walking billboard for you as soon as they leave your chair. First impressions are everything, and my work speaks for itself. I am lucky to have amazing clients who trust me and refer there friends and family to me. I couldn’t love all my clients more, they are the best.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
social media Is infuriating to me its a full time job in itself and . for a very long time I thought it was the end all be all. sometimes I still find myself going down a rabbit hole, but I gotta pull myself out. all I can say is just have fun with it. take before and after photos of your clients, and just document your work. don’t take it all so serious. as Long as you are enjoying yourself, and your clients are happy, it will translate onto your page.
