We recently connected with Angelika Koch and have shared our conversation below.
Angelika, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
One of the biggest risks I took was to openly talk about my past on my platform. To be vulnerable in front of hundreds of thousands–and sometimes millions– of people made me feel exposed and uncomfortable. I didn’t want people to look at me like I was broken because of my past. I wanted to share my past with people who were going through the same thing, so I could be a beacon of hope for their future. I wanted to show people that there was light at the end of the tunnel. In turn my vulnerability was what helped me to connect to my followers at a deeper level. It allowed them to see that they were not alone and give them hope.

Angelika, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the industry that I am in because I had a desire to be an empathetic Coach, who truly understands what it is like to struggle and help others move forward in their life. Because of my history I decided to become a relationship and breakup coach. I wanted to be the person I needed so many years ago and I wanted to be that for others in their life. This lead me to write a toxic relationship book/workbook and I felt very blessed when my social media platforms began to grow, because I was able to become someone in the self-help community that openly talked not only about how to overcome struggles but also about my own struggles. I wanted people to feel less alone in their life. I wanted them to have someone they could look at that understands what it’s like to be at rock bottom, but also provides hope that you can get out. When I think about who I am and the kind of impact I want my business to make, I think about who I needed when I was younger and the kind of help I wish I had.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I have found that I reach the most people through social media. Each day I post a variety of videos and I talk about subjects that people are struggling with. My potential clients then see my content and they reach out through email, direct messages, or leave comments. My clients also have the opportunity to book a session directly with me through the link in my bio, where I have my calendar set up.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I am constantly in touch with my clients. They know that I am only an email away and every time they email me, I provide a thoughtful response. My clients have always told me that they feel like I am not only a Coach, but I feel like a very loyal friend to them. They know I will hold them accountable, but I also have their back and I am always ready to encourage them and remind them of just how much progress they are making. I think brand loyalty really has to do with connecting with people on a human level and showing them the kind of compassion you would have needed had you gone through what they are going through. My clients know that this isn’t just a job for me. The care I have for them and their life is genuine.
