We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Angelica Artifex a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Angelica, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew I was going to work as a creative ever since I was a kid. One
Of my first jobs after school was assisting at an accountant office … and I lasted a one moth, that’s when I bed that office work was not for me. Artistry was it !

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi, I’m Angelica Artifex. I’m an artist with Swedish, Finnish, and Cuban roots. Growing up, my life was a vibrant mix of dance, music, food and art. My music is deeply influenced of Caribbean rhythms and urban pop, thanks to mixed background.
I’ve been passionate about music since I was young, and I developed my skills at the Rytmus music high school. By 12, I was already performing at local jazz festivals and recording background vocals. Along the way, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with amazing artists, like R&B singer Frankie J.
I’ve also dabbled in modeling working in Milan and Paris
Besides music, I’ve also worked as a TV host on “Get It Girl” at LATV Networks, which has been a fun way to showcase my multifaceted nature. I currently split my time between the US and Europe, always evolving my craft and working on new music. My Cuban roots continue to inspire me, and I love being a creative shapeshifter.
New release ‘Out in the Wild’
I’m excited about my new single, ‘Out in the Wild.’ It’s a vibrant mix of Caribbean rhythms and dreamy dance vibes, making it the perfect summer anthem. The song is all about liberation and self-discovery. The writing and beat-making process for this track was incredibly smooth, and it’s one of the songs closest to my heart. I couldn’t have done it without my fantastic team, producer Luigie “LUGO” Gonzalez and co-writer Celeste Scott. Together, we created something truly special that I’m thrilled for everyone to hear. ‘Out in the Wild’ is now available on all platforms !

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The creative process is the most rewarding aspect, to do what I love with no need to daydream or wish for something, like “if I only could’ or ‘I wish I had… I’m actually doing it!
its rewarding to be able to sit and create and put your work out there, and than get on to the next thing. I love having that flow of always creating something new and to collaborate with other creatives is also something I love to do!
And if people like what I do then that’s a huge plus!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I can tell you that my life has not been and still isn’t boring. There are constant challenges but it part of the creative marriage. Challenges and creates great songs!
I had to unlearn old believes that don’t serve me anymore. for example, thinking that I couldn’t do anything without a manager, when i realized that I work just as hard or even harder sometimes than the people I’ve come a-crossed. So I thought why don’t I manage myself until I find the right match? I won’t lie, it’s a lot of work and it requires patience and it’s oneself, but Im happy with my decision , I’m only getting stronger and learning so much everyday.
