Angelica, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I am a firm believer that putting Jesus Christ in the center of your business, goals, dreams etc YOU will succeed. Along with having God in the center, you need to really want this. Don’t just say “oh I’m gonna open up a business but have it as hobby” NO you need to put your everything into it. Yes you have no boss telling you what to do and it’s ultimately up to you whether or not you show up and represent. You have to constantly be wanting to do more for business and never just settle. On the days where I didn’t have clients, I was working on either my social media, reaching out to people, posting on Facebook groups and looking for ways to improve. It is not easy being your own boss and that’s why a lot of people are comfortable with the 9-5 corporate jobs. I once heard someone say “not everyone has the mentality to run their business” and it really stuck with me.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am 4 year experienced lash artist who loves to enhance your features! Lashes make the absolute difference and if you are a mom that has no time to get ready, this is PERFECT for you. I was only 21 when I made the decision to finally take a lash course and quit my job that same day. Luckily, I lived with my parents at the time and money wasn’t an issue. I remember lashing out of their living room for two years until I bought a shed at Home Depot and lashed out of it. I am basically known for the lash tech with the shed. My services include light volume, volume and lash lifts with tint. Each full set is specially tailored to every clients eye shape. I help women feel beautiful! I get how frustrating putting on mascara/ fake strips are. You waste so much time in the morning just trying to put those things on but the perfect solution is lash extensions. Trust me when I say, you will get hooked. I have clients that have been with me for years already and they refuse to take them off. Every lash artist is different but I can truly say that I 100% care about every person that books with me. My goal is to make you feel safe and comfortable those two hours that you are in my studio. If you need me, I am there! The main thing I want future clients to know is that I relocated from Tolleson, to San Tan Valley. I am starting over with clientele out here and I am home based. I would love to meet new faces and get to work with you!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Trust me when I say, SHOW UP EVERYDAY. When I first started my lash page, I was posting every single day at least every other hour. I followed strangers that soon became clients. As the years went by, I am noticing that people love to see your face and who it is behind the business. They love to see reels of you working, day in your life, etc. It is really important to show your face daily on your social media. Posting and talking a lot on your stories will make people feel like they can relate to you. That’s the one thing that has helped is people getting to hear me out and seeing who I am as a person before booking.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
For awhile I was very hesitant to hire a business coach because every person was super expensive. I knew I needed help with marketing especially with how social media has changed and I figured the right coach would just come to me. My friend was telling me about this girl who is her business coach and months went by where I ultimately worked with her. It has been super helpful! She gives me all these tips and tricks that I never knew about in the 4 years of having my own business. She helps me target my ideal clientele.
