We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Angelic Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Angelic , appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Self-care is success. Making time to focus on your Mental Health gives you a clear mind and shifts your perspective when faced with hard times. Most of us start careers to provide and leave legacies for our families. That alone can put so much pressure on your mental which is why I believe Mental Health Awareness should be a priority in every work environment. Although we’re taught to work as hard as we can to reach our goals and we’re provided the tools to do so, we are not coached on how to handle our failures and not allow the setbacks to discourage us. Our setbacks can help us become successful too.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My name is Angelic Brown and I have been a social media manager for 8+ years. As a Social Media Manager, I have helped brands, businesses, and individuals increase their brand awareness, engagement, and interactions through all social media platforms.

I believe what sets me apart from others is my ability to create “real-time” quality content for my clients and I never limit myself to what I can do.

I’m currently in the middle of rebranding myself but what I’m most proud of is my growth over the last five years and everything I have learned through trial and error during the pandemic. Although it was a lot of hardship, I had so much time to really focus on my career and educate myself on how to become essential to businesses through social media.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

With Updown Nightlife we curate our own events. So having the opportunity to interact with our consumers and capture great memories in real time helped me a great deal. Also, with our recent content direction it’s given me the opportunity to network as well which has expanded my personal brand.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

From watching people truly enjoy what I’m doing to the reactions we get on a consistent basis, it makes me look forward to releasing all of our content. It’s rewarding to be encouraged to keep doing what you’re doing. It makes it all worth it.
