We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Angeletho . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Angeletho below.
Angeletho , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The very first time it crossed my mind of doing this for a living was probably my junior year of high school cause I had already been making music for about two and half years. I was kicking it with my bro Isaiah and he was looked me dead in the face and said bro we can really do this and go somewhere with it, of course to me I was like i don’t know dawg cause yea it be cool but everyone wants to be someone and I was focused on skateboarding more at the time cause that’s all I ever did but he really got to me when he said it cause i could feel the connection and the passion we both shared for the music. So I slept on it for a while than people started telling me that they really liked the music we make and how we just do whatever so I said f*ck it let’s run with it bro and it’s been a pretty wild trip so far not like majorly known or none but I appreciate the plays and shares that I do get cause it gives me hope that I’m not just wasting my time you know?
Angeletho , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My names Angeletho aka Yung W*ore I’m a local artist outta Austin, Texas I just love to make music with my friends and have fun with it. The way I got into making music was multiple reasons. I live in Austin the music capital born and raised so music has always been a part of my life I love the way it’s always allowed people to express themselves in many different and unique ways. The main reason was because my friend Isaiah (KinneyFlow) has always rapped around me and he’s amazing at it and me I was always more on the production side of where I’d try to make beats on some free software on my old laptop for him to rap on but when our sophomore year rolled around he introduced me to our homie Eli (Yung Xantos) and he told em about this wack a*s rap I wrote called maniac, So he wanted to hear it and thought it was good for my first rap ever written so we went over and recorded it he thought it was cool so I posted it cause you know to me they were the pros so if they liked it I was ight with it and thats pretty much what sparked
My passion for the craft. I started studying the greats how they’d figure out the mental blocks and tried some techniques here and there but what really helped me discipline myself to get more work done was this interview I watched with Kanye and he said he used to lock himself in his room with no food no restroom breaks etc till he finished a beat, a song, or an idea.
So I started spending hours on end in my room ignoring my phone until I’d get at least some out even if it was trash to me.
Now I just let it flow out till I feel satisfied with what I got and sometimes it gets a little frustrating especially when people come and waste my time cause all I wanna do is help people reach their dreams in music and other fine arts and it’s made annoying when someone come in and just copy and paste exactly what someone else already did like it’s there money and time but I try to work with people who really want it and not just in it to make a quick buck and clout chasing but for the most part Ive had a lot a great times with the people I’ve met and have had the opportunity to work with and if you really got a passion for it I’ll always be willing to work with someone it ain’t about money to me that’s prolly the proudest moments I have when I see the fire in someone’s eyes it’s an amazing feeling.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is doing what you want without anyone standing over saying do this do that it’s full on free for all and no one can stop you and it’s even more rewarding when someone you don’t know shows love cause they loving you for you.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
