We were lucky to catch up with Angela Steele recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Angela thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
We are a family of 6. Our youngest son Jake was born in 2009 with an extra 21st chromosome (Trisomy 21/ Down Syndrome). He had two open heart surgeries in his first year of life. When he was about two years old, he started getting bumps all over his skin (eczema) . After years of visiting doctors and trying prescriptions that did not work- my sister was at the park with some other moms and one of them suggested we try goat milk soap. I went on Amazon, purchased our first bar, and the rest is history. It Worked!!!! His skin started to clear up within two weeks of using goat milk soap.
We already had goats as pets. We just put them to work! We built a soap shop, kidding stalls, and a milk room the next year. We researched and perfected our recipes. Steele Family Farm opened online of April 1, 2014. We started with 6 soaps and lotions.
Since then we have added hundreds of products and our customer base has grown from friends and family to selling wholesale to boutiques across the United States and Europe. Customers come back for more, time and time again.
Goat Milk has natural healing properties and has been used for centuries to heal the body inside and out.
We are proud of what we do and are happy our Goat Milk Goodness makes a difference!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We are thankful for all of our customers who allow us to do what we love! We are proud our goat milk products make such a difference for those with chronic pain and skin issues.
We strive to serve EACH customer individually and love to be able to connect with each one.
We are proud to offer free shipping on orders over $50 and keep our products at a price point most can afford. We could slap a higher price sticker on many of our products, especially
y in this economy, but we want everyone to be able to use and benefit from our products.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
We built up our social media presence little by little. It started with Facebook in 2014, followed by Instagram. We are currently learning how to use Tiktok and hope to build up our audience there also.
Our followers are made up of the customers we have gained over the years.
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
We milk our own herd of Nubian goats and use that milk to make all of our products ourselves. We even make and print our own labels! From start to finish everything is made right here on the farm.
