We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Angela Ross a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Angela, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
It was given to me by God himself. One early morning I had a dream and in my dream, I was in the bathroom. I proceeded to brush my teeth and wash my face then out of no where I heard God’s voice as clear as day, He said to me look down. I looked down and on the bathroom sink there is a pregnancy test. But it wasn’t your ordinary pregnancy test. This test was so unique because of the window that would usually reveal the positive and negative signs. Instead It was showing a baby showing. I ran and told my sister about the dream and she said wow!! Why dont we shape it like a woman. Instantly we had an aha! moment we knew we were on to something Grand! But we did not realize the task ahead.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Well we knew nothing about product developing or the inventors space. We just knew we needed to surround ourselves around people who were already doing what we wanted to do. But what’s even crazier is because this was inspired by God himself we didn’t have to look to hard. I remember going to have a meet and greet with some friends at a restaurant and I sat right next to a inventor himself. I was blown away because its not everyday you meet inventors. From there we started doing research like crazy to make sure no one else had our idea. We had mentorship. Then when we felt confident enough we moved forward to get it patented. Next we launched our business which is called the house of dreamz. https://www.thehouseofdreamz.com/ and also launched our second website with our first product the Curve of life pregnancy Test. https://www.thecurveoflife.com/
Soon after we we began to seek more mentorship, We created Social media content. We have donated and networked with so many local business from Fertility Clinics to Gyn doctors right here in Orlando Fl. We have also networked with our local community centers for pregnant woman. We are so proud of the lives we’ve touched and all the Contributions we have made in our community with The Curve of Life Pregnancy Test and many donations.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
On our journey with the Curve of Life pregnancy test we also have had some let downs. There was a deal that was supposed to fall through with a huge company. However when Covid hit the Company lost a lot of the resources and had to put our product to the back end . Well we said if they cant license it we will put it out ourselves and we did just that! We launched online on June 7th 2024.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the things I can say is to never allow another business to stop your from dreams. Some will believe in what you have and some won’t . Just remember what you possess and go for it. Don’t let anyone stop you from believing and conquering! Keep Going!
