We were lucky to catch up with Angela Posillico recently and have shared our conversation below.
Angela, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
The most important lesson that I learned from a job was a saying from a former CEO:
“Promise what you deliver, and deliver what you promise”.
This is very important whether you are working on a job, or even having your own business.
As the CEO for Ms. International World, it is important to keep the promises that I make to my contestants and
titleholders.
One of the things I promised, was to have them featured on major billboards throughout the United States and Internationally. That promise has been kept. Through our association with Supermodels Unlimited, my titleholders have been featured on billboards in Times Square New York, California, and soon in Paris,
France, for Paris Fashion Week.

Angela, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am no stranger to the modeling, talent and pageant industry. Having studied music from age 5, I become an accomplished singer and dancer. I took part in the Reader’s Digest European Vocal Tour, and was named female vocalist of the year. I received a scholarship from the prestigious Julliard Academy of Music in New York, where I earned a masters degree in Operatic Studies. In regards to dancing instructions, I had the distinct pleasure of studying with Maksim Chmerkovsky, from Dancing with the Stars fame.
I also had the honor of singing the National Anthem for President Nixon, when he campaigned at Hackensack High School. My training from the Julliard led me to performing the East Coast Tour for “Phantom of the Opera”. I played the part of Christine Daae.
I was also in the cosmetic industry, which led me to the pageant industry. I did the makeup for many of the contestants at different pageants. At one of the pageants, when the entertainer did not show up, they asked me to perform. The rest was history. I stated to perform at many pageants, which then led me to compete at a few.
The first pageant I won was the Greatest legs of New Jersey, after the third try. I was also Mrs. New Jersey Globe 1996, and made the top 10 at the Mrs. Globe Nationals. I also competed in the Ms. New Jersey US of A Pageant, of which I made the top 5. I was also the director for the Mrs. Globe Pageant for five years. Under the directorship of owner Tracy Kemble, my career blossomed. She did more for my career than the William Morris Agency in New York had done.
After moving to Florida in 2000, I started the Ms. Latina International pageant, which later on gave birth to the Ms. International World Pageant.
My greatest accomplishment for Ms. International World was to be recognized by our Federal Government, with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for empowering women throughout the world.
Our organization just recently received a proclamation from the Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for our accomplishments as an organization.
I have also been awarded the 100 Successful Women in Business Award, and was published in Volume I for the 100 Most Successful Women.
I now have my own Podcast called, “Make Our World Your Runway”.
So as Russell Crowe so elegantly said in Gladiator, “What we do in life, echoes in eternity”.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
I was fortunate enough to have great relationships with many of the executives on Wall Street.
That is how I was able to fund my business.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My experience with pageantry and being an entertainer. They definitely go hand in hand.
