We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Angela Krohn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Angela , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think in order to be successful, you must put yourselves in the shoes of your clients and truly understand and provide what they need. Being adaptable to them and treating them with dignity, along with providing a high quality product that will bring solutions to their growing needs.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a CPR/First Aid certifying instructor and now, Training Center owner. I started out as an instructor and when an opportunity became available, I opened my own Training Center, A+CPR. We offer CPR/First Aid training, specializing in Pediatrics. This provides us the privilege of training child care providers, teachers and caregivers. We feel our work is very important because it provides life-saving skills for infants and children, as well as adults. We try to be adaptable by bringing our training classes to our clients. Our business, A+CPR, has held classes all over Massachusetts since 2017, and I personally have been training individuals for over 10 years. Clients say they feel comfortable with us as trainers because we are patient, provide ample commendation for their attention and skills and over all, create a comfortable environment where they can learn. This is what I feel most proud of. Clients look forward to their training, instead of dreading it.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
One of the most effective and simple ways that we have grown our business is encouraging satisfied clients to create Google reviews. We have a marketing team who maintains our website and they have encouraged us to invite each client to leave a review. Simply put, this has increased our search engine optimization. When clients “google” CPR, they find us!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I have the advantage of being known as an instructor first, business owner second. Since my clients knew me well as an instructor in the field, it was almost a seamless transition for them to now seek me out as the organizer and provider of the entire training. Keeping the lines of communication open with them and responding quickly to them has been a great way to earn their respect. They usually do not have to wait until the next day to hear back from me. This builds their confidence in us and helps show our appreciation for their business.
