We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ángela Faraci a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ángela , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The idea was really a dream, the dream of being a cafe owner, was brewing for over 25 years. I grew up overseas and coffee was always part of my family, I spent my school breaks in the farms helping in the coffee farms, it was an amazing experience. In 2019 I was actually looking to open a small food truck, but In 2020 during COVID, is when the idea of having a cafe on wheels lit up in my mind. Coffee trailers were not very popular back then,, now is very competitive. I always wanted to share with everyone the beauty of real especialty coffee, and what a better way than going to the different communities and sharing the coffee with them.
The idea of talking to people over a cup of coffee seemed to be the dream job, and is a real dream to me that finally came through.
I enjoy being free and talking to people about everything and anything, and the bean has allowed me to meet so many nice people, I talk to them about their daily routines, their families, about our jobs, is amazing, I love it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a mom, a daughter and a sister. I have worked in the healthcare industry since I was 20 years old, working In the corporate world taught me a lot of lessons, some good, some bad, some that I didn’t care for. I learned that we are a number for this organizations, so I took the best out of their principles and I apply them to myself. I have a lot of discipline, and I have always taught my children, that in this world one doesn’t get what one wants, one gets what one deserves. If we want things In life, we have to be willing to work hard and do things others won’t do. I believe in discipline, a life without discipline is a disorganized life I believe in commitments and delivering results.
Building a business from the ground up requires, dedication, commitment and tenacity. I love what I am currently doing, because I love to connect with my customer, I love to learn new things everyday, the best way to learn is to listen, ask questions, investigate, and don’t be afraid.
I learn about the coffee industry everyday, from many people, what I do is a blessing for me and is a blessing for others. I love when my customers tell me, I forgot to buy coffee for my house and I knew I can get a good cup of coffee from you, that’s how I solve their problems. I give them coffee in the morning to start their day.
I have been building the ESPRESSO ME Brand, for almost three years, and I have had great times, is a lot of work, but is so worthy for me. I hope that I can be of some inspiration for some others out there who want to start a business but are afraid.
I started with almost nothing, but started with passion and the passion still there, I came along way from a table to out little coffee bean.
I am very proud of letting people know that I am still here going strong, that giving up is not in my vocabulary.
Our goal, next year is to open a storefront, I want to create a great experience for all of my customers and my followers, I want to be the place where people feel comfortable, I want to be the customers first choice when it comes to cafe shops.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When I first started my business my capital was a total of five hundred dollars, that bought some of my permits. Since I didn’t have anything else but I really wanted the business, every two weeks I bought something for the business, something I needed it, I had some good friends who have supported me from the beginning, I have a especial person in my life who gave me a truck, some tables, some cash for my birthday, I took everything given to me and I turned it into what we have now, a full equipped trailer to serve cafe.
Lesson one, if one doesn’t have money but have drive and persistency, you will get what you deserve to get.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I have recently changed from working Full Time in a big corporation, to dedicate myself to my business, this has been the biggest and the most important step I have taken in my life. As far as my career is concerned. Going from a check every two weeks to a no check every two weeks takes some courage, I am ready for the challenge and for this new chapter in my life!
