Alright, Angela thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

My passion for art has been the motivation to connect with people in the industry and move forward with ways to utilize my art precision, forming an innovative way to bring confidence to all types of people. Pigmentation has versatile ways to match skin tones and enhance at the same time. What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Let’s face it, marketing is very detailed and time consuming. The plan I have implemented in my journey is basic and works like the early days. I take a box of macaroons and attach my sticker with all of the business information. I then get to the nearest beauty salon and walk in to greet the front desk person and offer a gift of appreciation for the hard work. Who questions a compliment? Also, when sugar cravings happen, my business card will be shown and remembered from the salon when a client needs a enhancement they do not offer, I make sure for every referral a cash payment is given to show my appreciation. Word of mouth and first impression go a long way in my opinion.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

As a tattoo artist for over ten years, I have always thought saturation of ink keeps the longest on skin. Actually it has everything to do with placement. After becoming certified in Scalp Micropigmentation, I had to learn how to control the depth of the needle when applying ink impressions. I also had to learn a different angle at which to hold the tattoo machine in my hand at. In the early stages of my SMP career, I had to take a lot of breaks and rest my hand while working through clients. The technique was much different by applying small ink impressions, like dots and making sure not to apply too much pressure. it was all new to me. Later I realized I prefer SMP much more than tattooing all together. Not only does it bring more pleasure to my clientele, but it is satisfying knowing I have changed someone’s lifestyle by bringing back confidence.
