We were lucky to catch up with Angel Virtuoso recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Angel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?
In 2020 right before the pandemic I was starting a NYFW internship, and with the help of friends I was able to produce a multimedia fashion show named The Black Heart Event, which just recently had its 3rd annual this past December 2022. This is one extremely innovative project in my career because it’s always been locally produced, and under minimal budget with no sponsorship, and no investors. I set myself up to give others in my community the opportunity to showcase themselves and be apart of something extremely organic. I am so proud of being able to support others and show what community really looks like, when it is coming from a space of uplifting myself through uplifting others.
Angel , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Angel Virtuoso, and I have been Wardrobe Styling, Creative Consulting, and Modeling over my six years here in Phoenix Arizona. I own a small business named Archangel Virtuoso Studios. I provide services like Closet Cleanses, Styling, Personal Shopping. These can be separate or combined for a complete reassessment. This looks like a photoshoot, or just personal development at home. I am also a Creative Director and I love to do Event Coordination and curate multimedia events. Some of my hobbies include painting, reading, being active and learning about different creative industries.
I have a philosophy that I love to share with people that actually breaks down key components of Style, and how that translates through life. Through bases of color theory, silhouette, prints, textures, and functionality I help open peoples minds to the purpose of clothing, and how intentional getting dressed can be. My goal is to get people to expand.
My primary focus is to help enlighten artists and ordinary people alike on how to build confidence through their appearance/inner self, and to assist in reinstating value in aligning to their higher selves through fashion, creative direction and art. As the years go by I am very much going with the flow of my many interests and not limiting myself.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I love this question because I have gone through so many stages with my social media. I feel that I’ve built my following and community by being as authentic as possible, and sharing my thoughts. I have always posted me, whatever that was in every moment. I had an old account @Artangelrose . That account is hacked since September 2021. It had a really good representation of me just living my life, sharing experiences, and how that affected others. I am always apart of something bigger than myself and I believe that that inspires people to aspire for more. I think authenticity is the key to building a genuine audience. Utilizing your creativity and also trying to give people experiences through yours is also key.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Philosophically, reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho was really transformational for me. It helped put into perspective my proximity to the world I’m apart of. I was very moved and it allowed me space to see ways I can decenter myself and understand the relationships in my life. I really enjoyed The Magic of Thinking Big and Think and Grow Rich as well. I’m a naturally driven person and I love reads that are assisting with mental self regulation because that’s where it starts and ends!
