We recently connected with Angel Nicolas and have shared our conversation below.
Angel, appreciate you joining us today. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? We’d love to hear the backstory the illustrates how you grew the firm
Scaling my real estate business was anything but an overnight success. It was a journey built on relentless effort, learning from failures, and continuously adapting to new challenges. When I first started, I laid the foundation through cold calling, knocking on doors, and leveraging every connection I had. It wasn’t glamorous work, but I knew that to grow, I needed to put in the hours and master the basics.
One of the early lessons I learned was the importance of becoming a marketing specialist. I devoted a lot of time to understanding how to handle objections, ask the right questions at the right time, and for the right reasons. I recognized that real estate is a numbers game—the more calls I made, the better I got, and naturally, my closing rate started to increase.
To ensure that I was on the right path, I hired a sales coach. This was a pivotal moment for my business. The coach helped me create a structured selling process, which was essential for scaling. But it wasn’t just about the tactics; I also had to work on my psychology. In real estate, there are a lot of ups and downs. If you’re not mentally strong and focused on your goals, it’s easy to get distracted and overwhelmed. Learning to deal with failures and turning them into successes was crucial.
Another key element in my journey was understanding human psychology. Real estate is a people business, and to be successful, I had to learn how to adapt to different personalities. This knowledge has been invaluable in building strong relationships with clients, which in turn, has fueled the growth of my business.
The path to scaling wasn’t linear. It involved strategic decisions, like investing in the right technology to handle more clients without sacrificing service quality, and making tough choices about when to expand and when to double down on what was already working. The obstacles and mistakes along the way taught me resilience and the importance of staying adaptable.
In the end, it wasn’t a single breakthrough that made my business what it is today—it was a combination of hard work, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of people. Each challenge I faced became a stepping stone toward growth, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Angel, and I’m a Real Estate Advisor. My journey into the real estate industry began with a strong desire to connect with people and help them navigate one of the most significant decisions of their lives—buying or selling a home. From the start, I was driven by the belief that success doesn’t come overnight but through consistent effort and dedication.
I built my real estate company through a combination of old-fashioned hard work and strategic thinking. I started by cold calling, knocking on doors, and leveraging every connection I had. These early efforts were all about laying the foundation—getting my name out there and building trust in the community. I knew that the more I put myself out there, the better I would become, and my closing rate would naturally increase.
As I grew in the industry, I realized the importance of mastering marketing and communication. I spent significant time becoming a marketing specialist, learning how to handle objections, and understanding how to ask the right questions at the right time and for the right reasons. Real estate is a numbers game, and I was determined to play it well.
To take my business to the next level, I hired a sales coach who helped me create structure in my selling process. This was a game-changer. It wasn’t just about following a script; it was about understanding the psychology of sales and learning how to turn failures into successes. In real estate, there are plenty of ups and downs, and if you’re not mentally strong, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Working on my psychology helped me stay focused on my goals, no matter what challenges came my way.
One thing that sets me apart in the industry is my deep understanding of human psychology and my ability to adapt to different personalities. Real estate is ultimately about people, and being able to connect with clients on a personal level is what drives my success. I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built over the years and the trust my clients place in me.
I offer a range of services, from helping clients buy and sell residential properties to providing strategic advice for real estate investments. The problems I solve for my clients often revolve around making the complex process of real estate transactions as smooth and stress-free as possible. Whether it’s finding the perfect home, negotiating a deal, or navigating market challenges, my goal is to ensure my clients feel confident and supported every step of the way.
What I’m most proud of is the reputation I’ve built for being a trustworthy and reliable advisor. My clients know that I’m not just in it for the transaction—I’m in it to build long-term relationships. I want potential clients to know that when they work with me, they’re getting someone who is deeply committed to their success and well-being.
In summary, my brand is built on hard work, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to understanding and serving my clients. I’m passionate about what I do, and I believe that’s what makes the difference. Whether you’re buying your first home or looking to invest, I’m here to guide you through the process with expertise and care.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The most effective sources of new clients for me have revolved around diverse prospecting techniques. First and foremost, cold calling has been a key driver, allowing me to directly engage potential clients. Beyond that, harnessing my sphere of influence and nurturing personal relationships has yielded significant results through word-of-mouth referrals. This blend of proactive outreach and leveraging existing connections has not only expanded my client base but also fostered trust and credibility in my services. These strategies have played a crucial role in my overall success in acquiring new clients.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation within the market has been built on two key pillars: consistency and integrity. I approach my work with a strong commitment to high values and honesty, which has helped me establish myself as a trustworthy agent. Additionally, I focus intently on specific markets rather than trying to be a jack-of-all-trades. By concentrating my efforts on my designated farm areas, I aim to excel in those niches and provide exceptional service. This targeted approach, combined with my dedication to ethical practices, has significantly contributed to my positive reputation in the industry.
