We were lucky to catch up with Angel Martinez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Angel , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Resilient Tint:
It started with me tinting cars outside in my old Buford Hwy apartments, just trying to make something out of nothing. I didn’t have a real plan at first. just an idea that I could build something of my own. The first few weeks were all trial and error. I watched videos, learned from mistakes, and slowly started building a name through word of mouth. Every dollar I made, I reinvested, better tools, a tent for shade, better film. Within a few months, I was booked every weekend.
I created the name Resilient Tint to represent the mindset that got me there: pushing through struggle and staying solid. I built my brand on honesty and quality, and over time, it went from a garage hustle to a full-blown shop that ended up winning “Best Tint Shop in Georgia.”
DJ Halo:
DJ Halo came from my passion for music and my ability to read people’s energy. I’ve always loved curating vibes, but I never thought I’d make it a business. One night, I bought a mixer really tipsy with friends and that was the summary version of how i started. After I started offering to DJ small parties just for the experience. Each event taught me something new. How to build momentum, connect with crowds, and market myself online. Within months, I went from playing at small gatherings to packing out venues and even landing brand deals. DJ Halo became more than just a DJ name. It has become a movement built on energy, connection, and storytelling through sound.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Angel Martinez.
The founder of Resilient Tint and DJ Halo.
I got into tinting because of sheer survival and wanted to build something of my own. What started as an idea turned into Resilient Tint, a full-service shop offering automotive, commercial, and residential tinting, wraps, and paint protection film. We focus on quality, transparency, and customer trust which values that helped us earn Best Tint Shop in Georgia.
My DJ brand, DJ Halo, came from my passion for music and creating energy through sound. I started small, but quickly built a following for my unique ability to read crowds and turn any space into an experience. Now I’ve headlined packed events like HALO-Ween and landed partnerships with brands like Lana Tequila.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
One of my favorite marketing moments was when I decided to DJ at a Waffle House. I wanted to make DJ Halo feel relatable and real, so I set up my equipment right by the counter and turned a late-night spot everyone knows into a full vibe. Customers were dancing, employees were hyped, and videos went viral. That night showed people that I could create energy anywhere it made DJ Halo a name the city would never forget.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Consistency, authenticity, and energy. I always deliver quality !! whether it’s a clean tint job or a packed DJ set — and I treat every client like family. People trust my work because they can feel it’s real.
