We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Angel Cisneros a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Angel, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I am a creative person and I love learning about other cultures. I came to study art in college here from Mexico, and I got a job at an Indian brow threading salon. I became fascinated with this skill and the beauty of eyes and browse. When I graduated, I decided to come to West Hollywood and open my own brow threading salon to combine my creative love of eyes, beauty, and the need for great brows. I opened Sublime Eyes on Sunset Boulevard.

Angel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
We have manufactured our own Henna Brow products. Henna Brows was the most popular service in our salon we decided to package the Henna so our clients can do touchups at home. At the beginning we designed our own packaging with the first supplier, then later on our supplier passed away and we had to find a different supplier. We searched and when we found the second supplier he had a team. They helped us to create the packaging which was made a lot more professional and the design was better than the than the one before.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My mindset was either go big or go home. So I decided to open up a salon in the heart of Los Angeles. Coming from a small town in Mexico, being in Hollywood was definitely a culture and lifestyle shock. But I put foot forward and now I’ve been in business for over 10 years.
