Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anette Nance. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Anette, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career.
I would embed realistic life workshops. It would be great to provide a simulator which had students know how to cook healthy foods, budget, understand basics in politics, etc.
I believe we need to affirm students and include family in the process on how to communicate emotions and information.

Anette, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I would like folks to know to try as many things as you’d like and don’t stay in a box. I am proud of myself as a first generation professional that I am able to help others. I am proud that I get to be an example for others. I am a consultant that has a diverse background and I utilize my skills to assist organizations with their organizational structure but I can also do policy analysis.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to learn to stop marketing my services to family and friends . I learned to be my own billboard and target my audience especially on social media with various keywords etc.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth. When people speak about your work to others they are truly invested. Also when it comes from a familiar source it has an increased level of trust.
