We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anelya Alimova. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anelya below.
Alright, Anelya thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Our Mission — International Beauty Fashion Association & Anelya Alim Makeup School
Our mission is to empower talented individuals in the beauty and fashion industry to build sustainable careers, strong teams, and thriving businesses. As someone who has personally walked this path — from winning multiple awards in the beauty industry to becoming the first Kazakh woman to receive the prestigious Einstein Visa — I know how hard it is to break through.
On September 10, 2024, I had the honor of receiving a special award from the New York Assembly, presented by renowned philanthropist Jean Shafiroff, who is known for her contributions to philanthropy and authoring a successful book on building impactful giving. This moment became a turning point, inspiring me to create a platform where aspiring beauty professionals can find mentorship, education, and opportunities.
The International Beauty Fashion Association and Anelya Alim Makeup School were founded with one mission — to help emerging talents turn their skills and passion into a meaningful, successful, and sustainable future in the beauty industry. We believe that true success is not only about personal achievements but also about creating an ecosystem where others can rise with you.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Anelya Alim, and I am an entrepreneur, creative director, and international expert in the beauty and fashion industry. Over 15 years ago, I began my journey in the beauty industry and have since dedicated my life to creating not only aesthetic beauty but also successful, profitable businesses for professionals, experts, and entrepreneurs in this field.
My experience in opening franchises and branches in Kazakhstan, as well as obtaining a talent visa for work in media production and PR, allowed me to create a powerful and recognizable brand, Anelya Alim, which has become iconic on the international stage. By collaborating with leading magazines and newspapers, I was able to package my personal brand into a unique trademark, which is now known and valued worldwide.
Through my work, I discovered that most professionals in the beauty industry face the same challenges: they struggle to systematize and organize their businesses, they don’t know how to delegate tasks properly, and they encounter difficulties with internal management, accounting, and automating client processes. These pain points prevent them from growing and achieving stable success.
With Anelya Alim Makeup School and my educational system, we help beauty experts not only unlock their creative potential but also learn how to properly organize every aspect of their business. We provide them with the knowledge and tools that allow them to save time, money, and stress. Thanks to our system, professionals and entrepreneurs can avoid stress and mistakes, learn to delegate tasks, automate client and team management, and handle accounting and bookkeeping correctly, which is the foundation of stable income and a successful business.
I am proud that, thanks to my personal experience and the knowledge I pass on to my students, we help beauty professionals grow by 10 times and build profitable businesses that work effortlessly and without stress. My mission is to help creators, experts, and entrepreneurs achieve success and financial freedom by offering proven solutions for their businesses.
If you want not only to become an expert in your field but also to build a successful business that works for you while saving you time, money, and stress, welcome to the Anelya Alim team. Together, we will create a business that brings stable income and joy.

How’d you meet your business partner?
This is a very good question because I believe that in the 21st century, if you want to scale your business and move forward, having co-founders is key to stability and success. When there are several entrepreneurs in the business, especially when we talk about a triangular structure, it significantly strengthens the business and reduces the risk of bankruptcy. This is especially important when working in such a complex and competitive environment as the United States, particularly if you’ve immigrated and are unfamiliar with the local business system and laws.
I believe that having a partner is truly a find, especially when you work together, combining efforts and ideas. As the saying goes, “two heads are better than one,” and this really works in business. I currently have several partners in different states, as well as in Kazakhstan. Together with my co-founders, we established an association, and I’m convinced that our strength lies in the fact that we support each other by combining our strengths and experience.
When you’re looking for a partner, it’s important to be genuine and open, and also to be active on social media. We live in an era where people find each other based on values, philosophy, and common goals. For me, it’s important that a partner shares my values, such as family, health, respect for others, and ethical business practices, as well as abiding by the laws, especially in countries like the USA.
One of the best places to find partners is through business events and networking. My partners usually emerge through fashion weeks, business forums, summits, conferences, exhibitions, and charity events. These are great opportunities to meet people, discuss projects, and establish long-term business relationships. In such face-to-face interactions, you can find a partner with whom you can create something significant.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Yes, of course, I can share a story that is very important to me. I immigrated to the United States 3.5 years ago. When I arrived in New York, I had almost nothing. What I had were over 13 years of business experience in Kazakhstan, along with skills that I used to build a successful personal brand. Those skills and experiences helped me build a successful business in the U.S.
The first year was incredibly challenging for me because I had to learn completely new processes of doing business in the American beauty industry. I studied laws, accounting, trademarks, personal branding, and the mindset. I spent countless nights reading and working. I worked non-stop: during the day, I worked actively, and at night, I learned everything I could about the American business system to adapt it to my goals.
Today, I am proud to say that I successfully adapted my knowledge and experience in the U.S., and now my business is steadily growing. My team consists of over 200 people, and I am opening several branches across the country. I am also the director of the International Orlando Fashion Week, I have organized 4 Dee Production events at Hamptons and Times Square Fashion Week, and I have been collaborating with Brooklyn Fashion Week for two years. We work with the Japanese, African, Spanish, Brazilian, and Colombian diasporas, and my team has truly become international.
I have completely changed my business strategy and adapted new values and systems, which I now use in my coaching programs, courses, and methodology. These same principles are now at the core of my project – the Anelya Alim Makeup School branches, which are actively developing and helping other beauty industry professionals achieve success.
