We recently connected with Andy Zaldivar and have shared our conversation below.

Andy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Our mission is to interview guests who are doing extraordinary things in life to inspire the human spirit. Whether that’s an artist, entrepreneur, or success story, we aim to put that person on a pedestal and highlight their attributes.

This is important to us because we want to place selflessness on the forefront of what we do. It’s our way of giving back to the community; one great way to build unity, as well as foster significant business/personal relationships.

Andy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Andy “Double A” Zaldivar and I am the host of “The Profile Pod,” a podcast that serves others and aims to inspire. I am a United States Navy vet and former collegiate football player. I am also an actor and event host. I got into podcasting in January of 2019 because I wanted to get back into the world of entertainment after leaving several years back. Podcasting presented the accessibility of getting back into entertainment that I was looking for, so I launched my first podcast called “90’s Galore.” The premise of this podcast was to highlight bands/movies/shows that ran during the decade of the 90’s. Early in 2020, I pivoted because I wanted to connect more with my guests, so The Profile Pod was created.

I am proud of the reputation that this brand has built. It’s positive, inspirational and motivational. Our guests can expect maximum promotion on social media and an interview that’s going to present them in a positive light. We have hosted guests from all over the country, even a few from the United Kingdom! The professionalism and emphasis on making this a memorable experience is what sets this platform apart from others. We definitely stand out amongst
the crowd here in our home market of the Greater Los Angeles area.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

I make it a point to listen to other podcasts that focus on inspiring others. For example, The Ed Mylett Show is a great podcast that provides so much insight on entrepreneurship, business growth and development, inspirational content and other relevant topics. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to build success in business and in life. A book that truly encapsulates a lot of the concepts and ideas of effectively dealing with people is “How To Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. This is a must read for anyone looking for insight on navigating and cultivating great relationships with other human beings. It’s a an easy read, yet powerful at the same time. I have also spent time watching the greats like Johnny Carson, Dick Cavett and Howard Stern. Observing their interviews and picking up techniques they’ve utilized when conducting interviews. I’m always trying to learn something new by watching and listening to other podcasts too. You have to be a student of the game.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Building an audience on social media definitely was not easy for The Profile Pod. Some key components to building that audience are 1. Consistency 2. Posting quality content 3. Engaging with others. Another key to success has been to show others support by commenting and sharing their content. I also reach out to others on Instagram via direct message and invite them to enjoy our interviews. Specifically, leaving audio messages to add that personal touch. One must also do research and learn about growing social media platforms. If you truly wish to grow your social media presence, it’s imperative that you do your due diligence and hone the craft of growing your platform whether it’s Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc…
