We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Andy Castillo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Andy, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Well, my dream has always been to own a nightclub/bar. My first job ever (away from my family’s business), was in the nightlife, I started working the night life since 2014 and I saw how much the night life would make. I came from being a busboy, to barback, then bartender, later I became I promotor for nightlife, and through out the time, i became manager in the night life! I saw how much money was made in the industry, I saw so many stacks of money in front of me every single weekend. Leave late from work from how much money we all in management had to count before we leave the club. So I always loved the industry, I loved my job from the very start when I got in the industry. It was always a fun environment, people would spend money like crazy, everyone would always be happy, it was fun working there and I loved going to work every weekend! So that’s when I knew I wanted my own bar, my own night club.
Through out the years I saw how much the industry has changed, the investments, how the economy has affected a lot of the industry, and each time there’s more and more people decided to not go to clubs and spend
Hundreds of dollars on a bottle. Now they prefer to have parties at home or venues, have their own people, party with their own vibe and their own drinks that they choose, different cocktails, mocktails, etc. I always wanted my own nightclub/bar and right now it’s a small business but we started in 2023 and we’re still moving forward!

Andy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The way I got into the mobile bartending was I always worked in the night life. I started working in the nightlife in 2014. I loved the atmosphere, the vibes, everyone was always happy. I loved it. I went through every position in the nightclubs. From busboy, barback, bartender, promotor, until I became manager. After becoming manager, I did nothing but manage nightclubs for the rest of those years. My dream was always to have my own bar or nightclub, but economy changed through out the years and it has become a little harder but it inspired me to start my one mobile bar business, Chino’s Mobile Bar!
At Chino’s Mobile Bar we are experienced bartenders from the nightclubs. We are offer fast bartering services. Packages from just having bartenders and set up, to even packages that include absolutely everything needed for the bar, even alcohol and mixers. We do Weddings, Quinceañeras, Sweet 16’s, corporate events, special events, city events, house parties and much more. We also do themed drinks. So if you have like a themed party we make drinks according to the theme.
At Chino’s Mobile Bar we focus on the experience! We want you to sit back and enjoy the party with the rest of your guests. We also have servers for events so that we can have bartenders making drinks and servers taking the drinks to the tables or to the people around the dance floor so you can go and have the best experience with everyone you invited!

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
How I met my cofounder/business partner?!? Well this is a long story. I was manager at a nightclub/bar, there was a bottle service girl/server there, super beautiful, really smart, and hardworking! This girl later became my girlfriend! The love of my life. She listened to my dreams about having my own business and bar, so she bought my first portable bar ever and gifted to me to start my first gigs. And she was the one who pushed me to start my business and provided the first things I would ever need to start my business. We are no longer together but she was the best that ever happened to me and I appreciate her for helping me out, for giving me that push that I needed.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Personally, I think what helped me build my reputation within my business was the fact that I was known a lot in the Downtown Dallas area in allot of clubs because I was in the industry for so long already and managed for a while. People knew me from the best nightclubs around the DFW. I worked at a lot of the most famous and popular bars and nightclubs around Downtown Dallas. Places that it was hard to get a job at. And that’s what I think that helped me build my reputation in my business.
